וְאִם-בְּרִיאָה יִבְרָא יְהוָה וּפָֽצְתָה הָֽאֲדָמָה אֶת-פִּיהָ וּבָֽלְעָה אֹתָם וְאֶת-כָּל-אֲשֶׁר לָהֶם וְיָֽרְדוּ חַיִּים שְׁאֹלָה וִֽידַעְתֶּם כִּי נִֽאֲצוּ הָֽאֲנָשִׁים הָאֵלֶּה אֶת-יְהוָֽה׃
But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
ὅτι ἡμέραι ἐκδικήσεως αὗταί εἰσιν τοῦ πληρωθῆναι πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
τὸ λοιπὸν ἐκδεχόμενος ἕως τεθῶσιν οἱ ἐχθροὶ αὐτοῦ ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ
From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
וּבְשֶׁטֶף עֹבֵר כָּלָה יַעֲשֶׂה מְקוֹמָהּ וְאֹיְבָיו יְרַדֶּף-חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
תְּרֹעֵם בְּשֵׁבֶט בַּרְזֶל כִּכְלִי יוֹצֵר תְּנַפְּצֵֽם׃
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
אֵל קַנּוֹא וְנֹקֵם יְהוָה נֹקֵם יְהוָה וּבַעַל חֵמָה נֹקֵם יְהוָה לְצָרָיו וְנוֹטֵר הוּא לְאֹיְבָֽיו׃
God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
ἐλεύσεται καὶ ἀπολέσει τοὺς γεωργοὺς τούτους καὶ δώσει τὸν ἀμπελῶνα ἄλλοις ἀκούσαντες δὲ εἶπον Μὴ γένοιτο
He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
יְהִֽי-שֻׁלְחָנָם לִפְנֵיהֶם לְפָח וְלִשְׁלוֹמִים לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃
Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
וְהָאֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר-שָׁלַח מֹשֶׁה לָתוּר אֶת-הָאָרֶץ וַיָּשֻׁבוּ (וילונו) וַיַּלִּינוּ עָלָיו אֶת-כָּל-הָעֵדָה לְהוֹצִיא דִבָּה עַל-הָאָֽרֶץ׃
And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,
קוֹל שָׁאוֹן מֵעִיר קוֹל מֵֽהֵיכָל קוֹל יְהוָה מְשַׁלֵּם גְּמוּל לְאֹיְבָֽיו׃
A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
נְֽנַתְּקָה אֶת-מֽוֹסְרוֹתֵימוֹ וְנַשְׁלִיכָה מִמֶּנּוּ עֲבֹתֵֽימוֹ׃
Let us break asunder, their bands and cast away their cords from us.
διὰ τοῦτο ἰδού ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω πρὸς ὑμᾶς προφήτας καὶ σοφοὺς καὶ γραμματεῖς· καὶ ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀποκτενεῖτε καὶ σταυρώσετε καὶ ἐξ αὐτῶν μαστιγώσετε ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς ὑμῶν καὶ διώξετε ἀπὸ πόλεως εἰς πόλιν·
Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
וּרְאִיתֶם וְשָׂשׂ לִבְּכֶם וְעַצְמוֹתֵיכֶם כַּדֶּשֶׁא תִפְרַחְנָה וְנוֹדְעָה יַד-יְהוָה אֶת-עֲבָדָיו וְזָעַם אֶת-אֹיְבָֽיו׃
And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
καὶ πεσοῦνται στόματι μαχαίρας καὶ αἰχμαλωτισθήσονται εἰς πάντα τὰ ἔθνη καὶ Ἰερουσαλὴμ ἔσται πατουμένη ὑπὸ ἐθνῶν ἄχρι πληρωθῶσιν καιροὶ ἐθνῶν
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
τῶν καὶ τὸν κύριον ἀποκτεινάντων Ἰησοῦν καὶ τοὺς ἰδίους προφήτας καὶ ἡμᾶς ἐκδιωξάντων καὶ θεῷ μὴ ἀρεσκόντων καὶ πᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις ἐναντίων
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
ὕστερον δὲ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ λέγων Ἐντραπήσονται τὸν υἱόν μου
But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
λέγων ὅτι Εἰ ἔγνως καὶ σὺ καὶ γε ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ σου ταύτῃ τὰ πρὸς εἰρήνην σου· νῦν δὲ ἐκρύβη ἀπὸ ὀφθαλμῶν σου·
Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
