For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
μηδένα βλασφημεῖν ἀμάχους εἶναι ἐπιεικεῖς πᾶσαν ἐνδεικνυμένους πρᾳότητα πρὸς πάντας ἀνθρώπους
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
μηδεὶς πειραζόμενος λεγέτω ὅτι Ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ πειράζομαι· ὁ γὰρ θεὸς ἀπείραστός ἐστιν κακῶν πειράζει δὲ αὐτὸς οὐδένα
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
מִֽכָּל-מִשְׁמָר נְצֹר לִבֶּךָ כִּֽי-מִמֶּנּוּ תּוֹצְאוֹת חַיִּֽים׃
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
וַיַּרְא יְהוָה כִּי רַבָּה רָעַת הָאָדָם בָּאָרֶץ וְכָל-יֵצֶר מַחְשְׁבֹת לִבּוֹ רַק רַע כָּל-הַיּֽוֹם׃
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
כַּבְּסִי מֵרָעָה לִבֵּךְ יְרוּשָׁלִַם לְמַעַן תִּוָּשֵׁעִי עַד-מָתַי תָּלִין בְּקִרְבֵּךְ מַחְשְׁבוֹת אוֹנֵֽךְ׃
O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?
רַגְלֵיהֶם לָרַע יָרֻצוּ וִֽימַהֲרוּ לִשְׁפֹּךְ דָּם נָקִי מַחְשְׁבֹֽתֵיהֶם מַחְשְׁבוֹת אָוֶן שֹׁד וָשֶׁבֶר בִּמְסִלּוֹתָֽם׃
Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
μετανόησον οὖν ἀπὸ τῆς κακίας σου ταύτης καὶ δεήθητι τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰ ἄρα ἀφεθήσεταί σοι ἡ ἐπίνοια τῆς καρδίας σου
Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
יַעֲזֹב רָשָׁע דַּרְכּוֹ וְאִישׁ אָוֶן מַחְשְׁבֹתָיו וְיָשֹׁב אֶל-יְהוָה וִֽירַחֲמֵהוּ וְאֶל-אֱלֹהֵינוּ כִּֽי-יַרְבֶּה לִסְלֽוֹחַ׃
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
תַּֽהְפֻּכוֹת׀ בְּלִבּוֹ חֹרֵשׁ רָע בְּכָל-עֵת (מדנים) מִדְיָנִים יְשַׁלֵּֽחַ׃

οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι οὐκ οἰκεῖ ἐν ἐμοί τοῦτ' ἔστιν ἐν τῇ σαρκί μου ἀγαθόν· τὸ γὰρ θέλειν παράκειταί μοι τὸ δὲ κατεργάζεσθαι τὸ καλὸν οὐχ εὑρίσκω
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν ἵνα τί ὑμεῖς ἐνθυμεῖσθε πονηρὰ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
Καὶ ὑμᾶς ὄντας νεκροὺς τοῖς παραπτώμασιν καὶ ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
זִמַּת אִוֶּלֶת חַטָּאת וְתוֹעֲבַת לְאָדָם לֵֽץ׃
The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
אִוֶּלֶת קְשׁוּרָה בְלֶב-נָעַר שֵׁבֶט מוּסָר יַרְחִיקֶנָּה מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
