אַךְ-בְּגוֹרָל יֵֽחָלֵק אֶת-הָאָרֶץ לִשְׁמוֹת מַטּוֹת-אֲבֹתָם יִנְחָֽלוּ׃

Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.

Numbers 30

וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-רָאשֵׁי הַמַּטּוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָֽה׃

And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded.

Numbers 31

אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה לְכֹל מַטּוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל תִּשְׁלְחוּ לַצָּבָֽא׃

Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.

וַיִּמָּֽסְרוּ מֵֽאַלְפֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה שְׁנֵים-עָשָׂר אֶלֶף חֲלוּצֵי צָבָֽא׃

So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

וַיִּשְׁלַח אֹתָם מֹשֶׁה אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה לַצָּבָא אֹתָם וְאֶת-פִּינְחָס בֶּן-אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן לַצָּבָא וּכְלֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ וַחֲצֹֽצְרוֹת הַתְּרוּעָה בְּיָדֽוֹ׃

And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

Numbers 32

וַיְצַו לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה אֵת אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְאֵת יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן-נוּן וְאֶת-רָאשֵׁי אֲבוֹת הַמַּטּוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:

וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם׀ מֹשֶׁה לִבְנֵי-גָד וְלִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן וְלַֽחֲצִי׀ שֵׁבֶט׀ מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן-יוֹסֵף אֶת-מַמְלֶכֶת סִיחֹן מֶלֶךְ הָֽאֱמֹרִי וְאֶת-מַמְלֶכֶת עוֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן הָאָרֶץ לְעָרֶיהָ בִּגְבֻלֹת עָרֵי הָאָרֶץ סָבִֽיב׃

And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.

Numbers 33

וְהִתְנַֽחַלְתֶּם אֶת-הָאָרֶץ בְּגוֹרָל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶם לָרַב תַּרְבּוּ אֶת-נַֽחֲלָתוֹ וְלַמְעַט תַּמְעִיט אֶת-נַֽחֲלָתוֹ אֶל אֲשֶׁר-יֵצֵא לוֹ שָׁמָּה הַגּוֹרָל לוֹ יִֽהְיֶה לְמַטּוֹת אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם תִּתְנֶחָֽלוּ׃

And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.

Numbers 34

וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר זֹאת הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר תִּתְנַֽחֲלוּ אֹתָהּ בְּגוֹרָל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה לָתֵת לְתִשְׁעַת הַמַּטּוֹת וַֽחֲצִי הַמַּטֶּֽה׃

And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:

כִּי לָֽקְחוּ מַטֵּה בְנֵי הָרֽאוּבֵנִי לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם וּמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-הַגָּדִי לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם וַֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה לָֽקְחוּ נַֽחֲלָתָֽם׃

For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:

שְׁנֵי הַמַּטּוֹת וַֽחֲצִי הַמַּטֶּה לָֽקְחוּ נַֽחֲלָתָם מֵעֵבֶר לְיַרְדֵּן יְרֵחוֹ קֵדְמָה מִזְרָֽחָה׃

The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.

וְנָשִׂיא אֶחָד נָשִׂיא אֶחָד מִמַּטֶּה תִּקְחוּ לִנְחֹל אֶת-הָאָֽרֶץ׃

And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.

וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת הָֽאֲנָשִׁים לְמַטֵּה יְהוּדָה כָּלֵב בֶּן-יְפֻנֶּֽה׃

And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

וּלְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן שְׁמוּאֵל בֶּן-עַמִּיהֽוּד׃

And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.

לְמַטֵּה בִנְיָמִן אֱלִידָד בֶּן-כִּסְלֽוֹן׃

Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.

וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵי-דָן נָשִׂיא בֻּקִּי בֶּן-יָגְלִֽי׃

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli.

לִבְנֵי יוֹסֵף לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-מְנַשֶּׁה נָשִׂיא חַנִּיאֵל בֶּן-אֵפֹֽד׃

The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod.

וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אֶפְרַיִם נָשִׂיא קְמוּאֵל בֶּן-שִׁפְטָֽן׃

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.

וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-זְבוּלֻן נָשִׂיא אֱלִֽיצָפָן בֶּן-פַּרְנָֽךְ׃

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.

וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-יִשָׂשכָר נָשִׂיא פַּלְטִיאֵל בֶּן-עַזָּֽן׃

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan.

וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אָשֵׁר נָשִׂיא אֲחִיהוּד בֶּן-שְׁלֹמִֽי׃

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.

וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-נַפְתָּלִי נָשִׂיא פְּדַהְאֵל בֶּן-עַמִּיהֽוּד׃

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.

Numbers 36

וְהָיוּ לְאֶחָד מִבְּנֵי שִׁבְטֵי בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל לְנָשִׁים וְנִגְרְעָה נַֽחֲלָתָן מִנַּֽחֲלַת אֲבֹתֵינוּ וְנוֹסַף עַל נַֽחֲלַת הַמַּטֶּה אֲשֶׁר תִּֽהְיֶינָה לָהֶם וּמִגֹּרַל נַֽחֲלָתֵנוּ יִגָּרֵֽעַ׃

And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

וְאִם-יִֽהְיֶה הַיֹּבֵל לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְנֽוֹסְפָה נַֽחֲלָתָן עַל נַֽחֲלַת הַמַּטֶּה אֲשֶׁר תִּֽהְיֶינָה לָהֶם וּמִֽנַּחֲלַת מַטֵּה אֲבֹתֵינוּ יִגָּרַע נַֽחֲלָתָֽן׃

And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל-פִּי יְהוָה לֵאמֹר כֵּן מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-יוֹסֵף דֹּֽבְרִֽים׃

And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.

זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר-צִוָּה יְהוָה לִבְנוֹת צְלָפְחָד לֵאמֹר לַטּוֹב בְּעֵֽינֵיהֶם תִּֽהְיֶינָה לְנָשִׁים אַךְ לְמִשְׁפַּחַת מַטֵּה אֲבִיהֶם תִּֽהְיֶינָה לְנָשִֽׁים׃

This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.

וְלֹֽא-תִסֹּב נַֽחֲלָה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִמַּטֶּה אֶל-מַטֶּה כִּי אִישׁ בְּנַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה אֲבֹתָיו יִדְבְּקוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

וְכָל-בַּת יֹרֶשֶׁת נַֽחֲלָה מִמַּטּוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְאֶחָד מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת מַטֵּה אָבִיהָ תִּֽהְיֶה לְאִשָּׁה לְמַעַן יִֽירְשׁוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ נַֽחֲלַת אֲבֹתָֽיו׃

And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.

וְלֹֽא-תִסֹּב נַֽחֲלָה מִמַּטֶּה לְמַטֶּה אַחֵר כִּי-אִישׁ בְּנַחֲלָתוֹ יִדְבְּקוּ מַטּוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.

מִֽמִּשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵֽי-מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן-יוֹסֵף הָיוּ לְנָשִׁים וַתְּהִי נַֽחֲלָתָן עַל-מַטֵּה מִשְׁפַּחַת אֲבִיהֶֽן׃

And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

Deuteronomy 1

הָבוּ לָכֶם אֲנָשִׁים חֲכָמִים וּנְבֹנִים וִֽידֻעִים לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶם וַֽאֲשִׂימֵם בְּרָֽאשֵׁיכֶֽם׃

Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.

וָֽאֶקַּח אֶת-רָאשֵׁי שִׁבְטֵיכֶם אֲנָשִׁים חֲכָמִים וִֽידֻעִים וָֽאֶתֵּן אוֹתָם רָאשִׁים עֲלֵיכֶם שָׂרֵי אֲלָפִים וְשָׂרֵי מֵאוֹת וְשָׂרֵי חֲמִשִּׁים וְשָׂרֵי עֲשָׂרֹת וְשֹֽׁטְרִים לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶֽם׃

So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

וַיִּיטַב בְּעֵינַי הַדָּבָר וָֽאֶקַּח מִכֶּם שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר אֲנָשִׁים אִישׁ אֶחָד לַשָּֽׁבֶט׃

And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:

Deuteronomy 3

וְיֶתֶר הַגִּלְעָד וְכָל-הַבָּשָׁן מַמְלֶכֶת עוֹג נָתַתִּי לַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה כֹּל חֶבֶל הָֽאַרְגֹּב לְכָל-הַבָּשָׁן הַהוּא יִקָּרֵא אֶרֶץ רְפָאִֽים׃

And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.

Deuteronomy 5

וַיְהִי כְּשָׁמְעֲכֶם אֶת-הַקּוֹל מִתּוֹךְ הַחֹשֶׁךְ וְהָהָר בֹּעֵר בָּאֵשׁ וַתִּקְרְבוּן אֵלַי כָּל-רָאשֵׁי שִׁבְטֵיכֶם וְזִקְנֵיכֶֽם׃

And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;

Deuteronomy 10

בָּעֵת הַהִוא הִבְדִּיל יְהוָה אֶת-שֵׁבֶט הַלֵּוִי לָשֵׂאת אֶת-אֲרוֹן בְּרִית-יְהוָה לַֽעֲמֹד לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לְשָֽׁרְתוֹ וּלְבָרֵךְ בִּשְׁמוֹ עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

Deuteronomy 12

כִּי אִֽם-אֶל-הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר-יִבְחַר יְהוָה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם מִכָּל-שִׁבְטֵיכֶם לָשׂוּם אֶת-שְׁמוֹ שָׁם לְשִׁכְנוֹ תִדְרְשׁוּ וּבָאתָ שָֽׁמָּה׃

But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:

כִּי אִם-בַּמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר-יִבְחַר יְהוָה בְּאַחַד שְׁבָטֶיךָ שָׁם תַּֽעֲלֶה עֹֽלֹתֶיךָ וְשָׁם תַּֽעֲשֶׂה כֹּל אֲשֶׁר אָֽנֹכִי מְצַוֶּֽךָּ׃

But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

Deuteronomy 16

שֹֽׁפְטִים וְשֹֽׁטְרִים תִּֽתֶּן-לְךָ בְּכָל-שְׁעָרֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לְךָ לִשְׁבָטֶיךָ וְשָֽׁפְטוּ אֶת-הָעָם מִשְׁפַּט-צֶֽדֶק׃

Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

Deuteronomy 18

לֹֽא-יִהְיֶה לַכֹּֽהֲנִים הַלְוִיִּם כָּל-שֵׁבֶט לֵוִי חֵלֶק וְנַֽחֲלָה עִם-יִשְׂרָאֵל אִשֵּׁי יְהוָה וְנַֽחֲלָתוֹ יֹֽאכֵלֽוּן׃

The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.

כִּי בוֹ בָּחַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ מִכָּל-שְׁבָטֶיךָ לַֽעֲמֹד לְשָׁרֵת בְּשֵׁם-יְהוָה הוּא וּבָנָיו כָּל-הַיָּמִֽים׃

For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.

Deuteronomy 29

וַנִּקַּח אֶת-אַרְצָם וַנִּתְּנָהּ לְנַֽחֲלָה לָרֽאוּבֵנִי וְלַגָּדִי וְלַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשִּֽׁי׃

And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

אַתֶּם נִצָּבִים הַיּוֹם כֻּלְּכֶם לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם רָֽאשֵׁיכֶם שִׁבְטֵיכֶם זִקְנֵיכֶם וְשֹׁטְרֵיכֶם כֹּל אִישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,

פֶּן-יֵשׁ בָּכֶם אִישׁ אוֹ-אִשָּׁה אוֹ מִשְׁפָּחָה אוֹ-שֵׁבֶט אֲשֶׁר לְבָבוֹ פֹנֶה הַיּוֹם מֵעִם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ לָלֶכֶת לַֽעֲבֹד אֶת-אֱלֹהֵי הַגּוֹיִם הָהֵם פֶּן-יֵשׁ בָּכֶם שֹׁרֶשׁ פֹּרֶה רֹאשׁ וְלַֽעֲנָֽה׃

Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

וְהִבְדִּילוֹ יְהוָה לְרָעָה מִכֹּל שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כְּכֹל אָלוֹת הַבְּרִית הַכְּתוּבָה בְּסֵפֶר הַתּוֹרָה הַזֶּֽה׃

And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

Deuteronomy 31

הַקְהִילוּ אֵלַי אֶת-כָּל-זִקְנֵי שִׁבְטֵיכֶם וְשֹֽׁטְרֵיכֶם וַֽאֲדַבְּרָה בְאָזְנֵיהֶם אֵת הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְאָעִידָה בָּם אֶת-הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶת-הָאָֽרֶץ׃

Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.

Deuteronomy 33

וַיְהִי בִֽישֻׁרוּן מֶלֶךְ בְּהִתְאַסֵּף רָאשֵׁי עָם יַחַד שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together.

Joshua 1

וְלָרֽאוּבֵנִי וְלַגָּדִי וְלַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה אָמַר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לֵאמֹֽר׃

And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,

Joshua 3

וְעַתָּה קְחוּ לָכֶם שְׁנֵי עָשָׂר אִישׁ מִשִּׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ-אֶחָד אִישׁ-אֶחָד לַשָּֽׁבֶט׃

Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.

Joshua 4

קְחוּ לָכֶם מִן-הָעָם שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר אֲנָשִׁים אִישׁ-אֶחָד אִישׁ-אֶחָד מִשָּֽׁבֶט׃

Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

וַיִּקְרָא יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל-שְׁנֵים הֶֽעָשָׂר אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הֵכִין מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ-אֶחָד אִישׁ-אֶחָד מִשָּֽׁבֶט׃

Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:

וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ עִבְרוּ לִפְנֵי אֲרוֹן יְהוָה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם אֶל-תּוֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּן וְהָרִימוּ לָכֶם אִישׁ אֶבֶן אַחַת עַל-שִׁכְמוֹ לְמִסְפַּר שִׁבְטֵי בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:

וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ-כֵן בְּנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל כַּֽאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וַיִּשְׂאוּ שְׁתֵּֽי-עֶשְׂרֵה אֲבָנִים מִתּוֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּן כַּֽאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל-יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לְמִסְפַּר שִׁבְטֵי בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיַּֽעֲבִרוּם עִמָּם אֶל-הַמָּלוֹן וַיַּנִּחוּם שָֽׁם׃

And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

וַיַּֽעַבְרוּ בְּנֵֽי-רְאוּבֵן וּבְנֵי-גָד וַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה חֲמֻשִׁים לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כַּֽאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר אֲלֵיהֶם מֹשֶֽׁה׃

And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:

Joshua 7

וַיִּמְעֲלוּ בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל מַעַל בַּחֵרֶם וַיִּקַּח עָכָן בֶּן-כַּרְמִי בֶן-זַבְדִּי בֶן-זֶרַח לְמַטֵּה יְהוּדָה מִן-הַחֵרֶם וַיִּֽחַר-אַף יְהוָה בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.

וְנִקְרַבְתֶּם בַּבֹּקֶר לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶם וְהָיָה הַשֵּׁבֶט אֲשֶׁר-יִלְכְּדֶנּוּ יְהוָה יִקְרַב לַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹת וְהַמִּשְׁפָּחָה אֲשֶֽׁר-יִלְכְּדֶנָּה יְהוָה תִּקְרַב לַבָּתִּים וְהַבַּיִת אֲשֶׁר יִלְכְּדֶנּוּ יְהוָה יִקְרַב לַגְּבָרִֽים׃

In the morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORD taketh shall come according to the families thereof; and the family which the LORD shall take shall come by households; and the household which the LORD shall take shall come man by man.

וַיַּשְׁכֵּם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בַּבֹּקֶר וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל לִשְׁבָטָיו וַיִּלָּכֵד שֵׁבֶט יְהוּדָֽה׃

So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:

וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת-בֵּיתוֹ לַגְּבָרִים וַיִּלָּכֵד עָכָן בֶּן-כַּרְמִי בֶן-זַבְדִּי בֶּן-זֶרַח לְמַטֵּה יְהוּדָֽה׃

And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.

Joshua 11

וַיִּקַּח יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶת-כָּל-הָאָרֶץ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה וַיִּתְּנָהּ יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לְנַֽחֲלָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל כְּמַחְלְקֹתָם לְשִׁבְטֵיהֶם וְהָאָרֶץ שָֽׁקְטָה מִמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

Joshua 12

מֹשֶׁה עֶֽבֶד-יְהוָה וּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הִכּוּם וַֽיִּתְּנָהּ מֹשֶׁה עֶֽבֶד-יְהוָה יְרֻשָּׁה לָרֻֽאוּבֵנִי וְלַגָּדִי וְלַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

Them did Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smite: and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

וְאֵלֶּה מַלְכֵי הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר הִכָּה יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן יָמָּה מִבַּעַל גָּד בְּבִקְעַת הַלְּבָנוֹן וְעַד-הָהָר הֶֽחָלָק הָֽעֹלֶה שֵׂעִירָה וַיִּתְּנָהּ יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לְשִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יְרֻשָּׁה כְּמַחְלְקֹתָֽם׃

And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions;

Joshua 13

וְעַתָּה חַלֵּק אֶת-הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת בְּנַֽחֲלָה לְתִשְׁעַת הַשְּׁבָטִים וַֽחֲצִי הַשֵּׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

רַק לְשֵׁבֶט הַלֵּוִי לֹא נָתַן נַֽחֲלָה אִשֵּׁי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא נַֽחֲלָתוֹ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר-לֽוֹ׃

Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-רְאוּבֵן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃

And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families.

וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לְמַטֵּה-גָד לִבְנֵי-גָד לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃

And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.

וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט מְנַשֶּׁה וַיְהִי לַֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-מְנַשֶּׁה לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָֽם׃

And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.

וּלְשֵׁבֶט הַלֵּוִי לֹֽא-נָתַן מֹשֶׁה נַֽחֲלָה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא נַֽחֲלָתָם כַּֽאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר לָהֶֽם׃

But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LORD God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

Joshua 14

וְאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר-נָֽחֲלוּ בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן אֲשֶׁר נִֽחֲלוּ אוֹתָם אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וִֽיהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן-נוּן וְרָאשֵׁי אֲבוֹת הַמַּטּוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.

בְּגוֹרַל נַֽחֲלָתָם כַּֽאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה בְּיַד-מֹשֶׁה לְתִשְׁעַת הַמַּטּוֹת וַֽחֲצִי הַמַּטֶּֽה׃

By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

כִּֽי-נָתַן מֹשֶׁה נַֽחֲלַת שְׁנֵי הַמַּטּוֹת וַֽחֲצִי הַמַּטֶּה מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן וְלַלְוִיִּם לֹֽא-נָתַן נַֽחֲלָה בְּתוֹכָֽם׃

For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.

כִּֽי-הָיוּ בְנֵֽי-יוֹסֵף שְׁנֵי מַטּוֹת מְנַשֶּׁה וְאֶפְרָיִם וְלֹֽא-נָתְנוּ חֵלֶק לַלְוִיִּם בָּאָרֶץ כִּי אִם-עָרִים לָשֶׁבֶת וּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶם לְמִקְנֵיהֶם וּלְקִנְיָנָֽם׃

For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

Joshua 15

וַיְהִי הַגּוֹרָל לְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם אֶל-גְּבוּל אֱדוֹם מִדְבַּר-צִן נֶגְבָּה מִקְצֵה תֵימָֽן׃

This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-יְהוּדָה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

וַיִּֽהְיוּ הֶֽעָרִים מִקְצֵה לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-יְהוּדָה אֶל-גְּבוּל אֱדוֹם בַּנֶּגְבָּה קַבְצְאֵל וְעֵדֶר וְיָגֽוּר׃

And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

Joshua 16

מִתַּפּוּחַ יֵלֵךְ הַגְּבוּל יָמָּה נַחַל קָנָה וְהָיוּ תֹֽצְאֹתָיו הַיָּמָּה זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אֶפְרַיִם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃

The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.

Joshua 17

וַיְהִי הַגּוֹרָל לְמַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה כִּי-הוּא בְּכוֹר יוֹסֵף לְמָכִיר בְּכוֹר מְנַשֶּׁה אֲבִי הַגִּלְעָד כִּי הוּא הָיָה אִישׁ מִלְחָמָה וַֽיְהִי-לוֹ הַגִּלְעָד וְהַבָּשָֽׁן׃

There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

Joshua 18

וַיִּוָּֽתְרוּ בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-חָלְקוּ אֶת-נַֽחֲלָתָם שִׁבְעָה שְׁבָטִֽים׃

And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.

הָבוּ לָכֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה אֲנָשִׁים לַשָּׁבֶט וְאֶשְׁלָחֵם וְיָקֻמוּ וְיִֽתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וְיִכְתְּבוּ אוֹתָהּ לְפִי נַֽחֲלָתָם וְיָבֹאוּ אֵלָֽי׃

Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.

כִּי אֵֽין-חֵלֶק לַלְוִיִּם בְּקִרְבְּכֶם כִּֽי-כְהֻנַּת יְהוָה נַֽחֲלָתוֹ וְגָד וּרְאוּבֵן וַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה לָֽקְחוּ נַֽחֲלָתָם מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן מִזְרָחָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה עֶבֶד יְהוָֽה׃

But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.

וַיַּעַל גּוֹרַל מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וַיֵּצֵא גְּבוּל גּֽוֹרָלָם בֵּין בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה וּבֵין בְּנֵי יוֹסֵֽף׃

And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

וְהָיוּ הֶֽעָרִים לְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֽוֹתֵיהֶם יְרִיחוֹ וּבֵית-חָגְלָה וְעֵמֶק קְצִֽיץ׃

Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and the valley of Keziz,

Joshua 19

וַיֵּצֵא הַגּוֹרָל הַשֵּׁנִי לְשִׁמְעוֹן לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-שִׁמְעוֹן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם וַֽיְהִי נַֽחֲלָתָם בְּתוֹךְ נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵֽי-יְהוּדָֽה׃

And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.

וְכָל-הַֽחֲצֵרִים אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹת הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה עַד-בַּֽעֲלַת בְּאֵר רָאמַת נֶגֶב זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-שִׁמְעוֹן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃

And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalath-beer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.

זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-יִשָּׂשכָר לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

וַיֵּצֵא הַגּוֹרָל הַֽחֲמִישִׁי לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אָשֵׁר לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָֽם׃

And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.

זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אָשֵׁר לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-נַפְתָּלִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

לְמַטֵּה בְנֵי-דָן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם יָצָא הַגּוֹרָל הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃

And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.

זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵי-דָן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

אֵלֶּה הַנְּחָלֹת אֲשֶׁר נִֽחֲלוּ אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן׀ וִֽיהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן-נוּן וְרָאשֵׁי הָֽאָבוֹת לְמַטּוֹת בְּנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל׀ בְּגוֹרָל׀ בְּשִׁלֹה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וַיְכַלּוּ מֵֽחַלֵּק אֶת-הָאָֽרֶץ׃

These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

Joshua 20

וּמֵעֵבֶר לְיַרְדֵּן יְרִיחוֹ מִזְרָחָה נָֽתְנוּ אֶת-בֶּצֶר בַּמִּדְבָּר בַּמִּישֹׁר מִמַּטֵּה רְאוּבֵן וְאֶת-רָאמֹת בַּגִּלְעָד מִמַּטֵּה-גָד וְאֶת-‫(גלון)‬ גּוֹלָן בַּבָּשָׁן מִמַּטֵּה מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.

Joshua 21

וַֽיִּגְּשׁוּ רָאשֵׁי אֲבוֹת הַלְוִיִּם אֶל-אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְאֶל-יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן-נוּן וְאֶל-רָאשֵׁי אֲבוֹת הַמַּטּוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;

וַיֵּצֵא הַגּוֹרָל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹת הַקְּהָתִי וַיְהִי לִבְנֵי אַֽהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן מִן-הַלְוִיִּם מִמַּטֵּה יְהוּדָה וּמִמַּטֵּה הַשִּׁמְעֹנִי וּמִמַּטֵּה בִנְיָמִן בַּגּוֹרָל עָרִים שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃

And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

וְלִבְנֵי קְהָת הַנּֽוֹתָרִים מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹת מַטֵּֽה-אֶפְרַיִם וּֽמִמַּטֵּה-דָן וּמֵֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה בַּגּוֹרָל עָרִים עָֽשֶׂר׃

And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

וְלִבְנֵי גֵֽרְשׁוֹן מִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹת מַטֵּֽה-יִשָּׂשכָר וּמִמַּטֵּֽה-אָשֵׁר וּמִמַּטֵּה נַפְתָּלִי וּמֵֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה בַבָּשָׁן בַּגּוֹרָל עָרִים שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃

And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

לִבְנֵי מְרָרִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם מִמַּטֵּה רְאוּבֵן וּמִמַּטֵּה-גָד וּמִמַּטֵּה זְבוּלֻן עָרִים שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃

The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

וַֽיִּתְּנוּ מִמַּטֵּה בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה וּמִמַּטֵּה בְּנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן אֵת הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר-יִקְרָא אֶתְהֶן בְּשֵֽׁם׃

And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,

וְאֶת-עַיִן וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁהָ וְאֶת-יֻטָּה וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁהָ אֶת-בֵּית שֶׁמֶשׁ וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁהָ עָרִים תֵּשַׁע מֵאֵת שְׁנֵי הַשְּׁבָטִים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.

וּמִמַּטֵּה בִנְיָמִין אֶת-גִּבְעוֹן וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁהָ אֶת-גֶּבַע וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶֽׁהָ׃

And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,

וּלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹת בְּנֵֽי-קְהָת הַלְוִיִּם הַנּֽוֹתָרִים מִבְּנֵי קְהָת וַֽיְהִי עָרֵי גֽוֹרָלָם מִמַּטֵּה אֶפְרָֽיִם׃

And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
