אַךְ לֵאלֹהִים דּוֹמִּי נַפְשִׁי כִּי-מִמֶּנּוּ תִּקְוָתִֽי׃
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
עַל-אֱלֹהִים יִשְׁעִי וּכְבוֹדִי צוּר-עֻזִּי מַחְסִי בֵּֽאלֹהִֽים׃
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
בִּטְחוּ בוֹ בְכָל-עֵת׀ עָם שִׁפְכֽוּ-לְפָנָיו לְבַבְכֶם אֱלֹהִים מַחֲסֶה-לָּנוּ סֶֽלָה׃
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
אַחַת׀ דִּבֶּר אֱלֹהִים שְׁתַּֽיִם-זוּ שָׁמָעְתִּי כִּי עֹז לֵאלֹהִֽים׃
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
אֱלֹהִים׀ אֵלִי אַתָּה אֲֽשַׁחֲרֶךָּ צָמְאָה לְךָ׀ נַפְשִׁי כָּמַהּ לְךָ בְשָׂרִי בְּאֶֽרֶץ-צִיָּה וְעָיֵף בְּלִי-מָֽיִם׃
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
וְהַמֶּלֶךְ יִשְׂמַח בֵּאלֹהִים יִתְהַלֵּל כָּל-הַנִּשְׁבָּע בּוֹ כִּי יִסָּכֵר פִּי דֽוֹבְרֵי-שָֽׁקֶר׃
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
שְׁמַע-אֱלֹהִים קוֹלִי בְשִׂיחִי מִפַּחַד אוֹיֵב תִּצֹּר חַיָּֽי׃
Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
וַיֹּרֵם אֱלֹהִים חֵץ פִּתְאוֹם הָיוּ מַכּוֹתָֽם׃
But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
וַיִּֽירְאוּ כָּל-אָדָם וַיַּגִּידוּ פֹּעַל אֱלֹהִים וּֽמַעֲשֵׂהוּ הִשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃
And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
לְךָ דֻֽמִיָּה תְהִלָּה אֱלֹהִים בְּצִיּוֹן וּלְךָ יְשֻׁלַּם-נֶֽדֶר׃
Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.
נוֹרָאוֹת׀ בְּצֶדֶק תַּעֲנֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ מִבְטָח כָּל-קַצְוֵי-אֶרֶץ וְיָם רְחֹקִֽים׃
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:
פָּקַדְתָּ הָאָרֶץ וַתְּשֹׁקְקֶהָ רַבַּת תַּעְשְׁרֶנָּה פֶּלֶג אֱלֹהִים מָלֵא מָיִם תָּכִין דְּגָנָם כִּי-כֵן תְּכִינֶֽהָ׃
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
אִמְרוּ לֵאלֹהִים מַה-נּוֹרָא מַעֲשֶׂיךָ בְּרֹב עֻזְּךָ יְֽכַחֲשׁוּ לְךָ אֹיְבֶֽיךָ׃
Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
לְכוּ וּרְאוּ מִפְעֲלוֹת אֱלֹהִים נוֹרָא עֲלִילָה עַל-בְּנֵי אָדָֽם׃
Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
בָּרְכוּ עַמִּים׀ אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְהַשְׁמִיעוּ קוֹל תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃
O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
כִּֽי-בְחַנְתָּנוּ אֱלֹהִים צְרַפְתָּנוּ כִּצְרָף-כָּֽסֶף׃
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
לְכֽוּ-שִׁמְעוּ וַאֲסַפְּרָה כָּל-יִרְאֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְנַפְשִֽׁי׃
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
אָכֵן שָׁמַע אֱלֹהִים הִקְשִׁיב בְּקוֹל תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃
But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
בָּרוּךְ אֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-הֵסִיר תְּפִלָּתִי וְחַסְדּוֹ מֵאִתִּֽי׃
Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
אֱלֹהִים יְחָנֵּנוּ וִֽיבָרְכֵנוּ יָאֵר פָּנָיו אִתָּנוּ סֶֽלָה׃
God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
יוֹדוּךָ עַמִּים׀ אֱלֹהִים יוֹדוּךָ עַמִּים כֻּלָּֽם׃
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
יוֹדוּךָ עַמִּים׀ אֱלֹהִים יוֹדוּךָ עַמִּים כֻּלָּֽם׃
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
אֶרֶץ נָתְנָה יְבוּלָהּ יְבָרְכֵנוּ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
יְבָרְכֵנוּ אֱלֹהִים וְיִֽירְאוּ אוֹתוֹ כָּל-אַפְסֵי-אָֽרֶץ׃
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
יָקוּם אֱלֹהִים יָפוּצוּ אוֹיְבָיו וְיָנוּסוּ מְשַׂנְאָיו מִפָּנָֽיו׃
Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
כְּהִנְדֹּף עָשָׁן תִּנְדֹּף כְּהִמֵּס דּוֹנַג מִפְּנֵי-אֵשׁ יֹאבְדוּ רְשָׁעִים מִפְּנֵי אֱלֹהִֽים׃
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
וְֽצַדִּיקִים יִשְׂמְחוּ יַֽעַלְצוּ לִפְנֵי אֱלֹהִים וְיָשִׂישׂוּ בְשִׂמְחָֽה׃
But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
שִׁירוּ׀ לֵֽאלֹהִים זַמְּרוּ שְׁמוֹ סֹלּוּ לָרֹכֵב בָּעֲרָבוֹת בְּיָהּ שְׁמוֹ וְעִלְזוּ לְפָנָֽיו׃
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
אֲבִי יְתוֹמִים וְדַיַּן אַלְמָנוֹת אֱלֹהִים בִּמְעוֹן קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
אֱלֹהִים׀ מוֹשִׁיב יְחִידִים׀ בַּיְתָה מוֹצִיא אֲסִירִים בַּכּוֹשָׁרוֹת אַךְ סוֹרֲרִים שָׁכְנוּ צְחִיחָֽה׃
God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
אֱֽלֹהִים בְּצֵאתְךָ לִפְנֵי עַמֶּךָ בְּצַעְדְּךָ בִֽישִׁימוֹן סֶֽלָה׃
O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
אֶרֶץ רָעָשָׁה׀ אַף-שָׁמַיִם נָטְפוּ מִפְּנֵי אֱלֹהִים זֶה סִינַי מִפְּנֵי אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
גֶּשֶׁם נְדָבוֹת תָּנִיף אֱלֹהִים נַחֲלָתְךָ וְנִלְאָה אַתָּה כֽוֹנַנְתָּֽהּ׃
Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
חַיָּתְךָ יָֽשְׁבוּ-בָהּ תָּכִין בְּטוֹבָתְךָ לֶעָנִי אֱלֹהִֽים׃
Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.
הַר-אֱלֹהִים הַר-בָּשָׁן הַר גַּבְנֻנִּים הַר-בָּשָֽׁן׃
The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.
לָמָּה׀ תְּֽרַצְּדוּן הָרִים גַּבְנֻנִּים הָהָר חָמַד אֱלֹהִים לְשִׁבְתּוֹ אַף-יְהוָה יִשְׁכֹּן לָנֶֽצַח׃
Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.
רֶכֶב אֱלֹהִים רִבֹּתַיִם אַלְפֵי שִׁנְאָן אֲדֹנָי בָם סִינַי בַּקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.
עָלִיתָ לַמָּרוֹם׀ שָׁבִיתָ שֶּׁבִי לָקַחְתָּ מַתָּנוֹת בָּאָדָם וְאַף סוֹרְרִים לִשְׁכֹּן׀ יָהּ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.
אַךְ-אֱלֹהִים יִמְחַץ רֹאשׁ אֹיְבָיו קָדְקֹד שֵׂעָר מִתְהַלֵּךְ בַּאֲשָׁמָֽיו׃
But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.
רָאוּ הֲלִיכוֹתֶיךָ אֱלֹהִים הֲלִיכוֹת אֵלִי מַלְכִּי בַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃
They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.
בְּֽמַקְהֵלוֹת בָּרְכוּ אֱלֹהִים אֲדֹנָי מִמְּקוֹר יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.
צִוָּה אֱלֹהֶיךָ עֻזֶּךָ עוּזָּה אֱלֹהִים זוּ פָּעַלְתָּ לָּֽנוּ׃
Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.
יֶאֱתָיוּ חַשְׁמַנִּים מִנִּי מִצְרָיִם כּוּשׁ תָּרִיץ יָדָיו לֵאלֹהִֽים׃
Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.
מַמְלְכוֹת הָאָרֶץ שִׁירוּ לֵאלֹהִים זַמְּרוּ אֲדֹנָי סֶֽלָה׃
Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:
תְּנוּ עֹז לֵֽאלֹהִים עַֽל-יִשְׂרָאֵל גַּאֲוָתוֹ וְעֻזּוֹ בַּשְּׁחָקִֽים׃
Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.
נוֹרָא אֱלֹהִים מִֽמִּקְדָּשֶׁיךָ אֵל יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא נֹתֵן׀ עֹז וְתַעֲצֻמוֹת לָעָם בָּרוּךְ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.
הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי אֱלֹהִים כִּי בָאוּ מַיִם עַד-נָֽפֶשׁ׃
Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
יָגַעְתִּי בְקָרְאִי נִחַר גְּרוֹנִי כָּלוּ עֵינַי מְיַחֵל לֵאלֹהָֽי׃
I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
אֱֽלֹהִים אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ לְאִוַּלְתִּי וְאַשְׁמוֹתַי מִמְּךָ לֹא-נִכְחָֽדוּ׃
O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.
אַל-יֵבֹשׁוּ בִי׀ קוֶֹיךָ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה צְבָאוֹת אַל-יִכָּלְמוּ בִי מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּתִֽי-לְךָ׀ יְהוָה עֵת רָצוֹן אֱלֹהִים בְּרָב-חַסְדֶּךָ עֲנֵנִי בֶּאֱמֶת יִשְׁעֶֽךָ׃
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
וַאֲנִי עָנִי וְכוֹאֵב יְשׁוּעָתְךָ אֱלֹהִים תְּשַׂגְּבֵֽנִי׃
But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
אֲהַֽלְלָה שֵׁם-אֱלֹהִים בְּשִׁיר וַאֲגַדְּלֶנּוּ בְתוֹדָֽה׃
I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
רָאוּ עֲנָוִים יִשְׂמָחוּ דֹּרְשֵׁי אֱלֹהִים וִיחִי לְבַבְכֶֽם׃
The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
כִּי אֱלֹהִים׀ יוֹשִׁיעַ צִיּוֹן וְיִבְנֶה עָרֵי יְהוּדָה וְיָשְׁבוּ שָׁם וִירֵשֽׁוּהָ׃
For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
אֱלֹהִים לְהַצִּילֵנִי יְהוָה לְעֶזְרָתִי חֽוּשָׁה׃
Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.
יָשִׂישׂוּ וְיִשְׂמְחוּ׀ בְּךָ כָּֽל-מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ וְיֹאמְרוּ תָמִיד יִגְדַּל אֱלֹהִים אֹהֲבֵי יְשׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
וַאֲנִי׀ עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן אֱלֹהִים חוּשָׁה-לִּי עֶזְרִי וּמְפַלְטִי אַתָּה יְהוָה אַל-תְּאַחַֽר׃
But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
אֱֽלֹהַי פַּלְּטֵנִי מִיַּד רָשָׁע מִכַּף מְעַוֵּל וְחוֹמֵץ׃
Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
לֵאמֹר אֱלֹהִים עֲזָבוֹ רִֽדְפוּ וְתִפְשׂוּהוּ כִּי-אֵין מַצִּֽיל׃
Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
אֱלֹהִים אַל-תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי אֱלֹהַי לְעֶזְרָתִי (חישה) חֽוּשָׁה׃
O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
אֱֽלֹהִים לִמַּדְתַּנִי מִנְּעוּרָי וְעַד-הֵנָּה אַגִּיד נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃
O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
וְגַם עַד-זִקְנָה׀ וְשֵׂיבָה אֱלֹהִים אַֽל-תַּעַזְבֵנִי עַד-אַגִּיד זְרוֹעֲךָ לְדוֹר לְכָל-יָבוֹא גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ׃
Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
וְצִדְקָתְךָ אֱלֹהִים עַד-מָרוֹם אֲשֶׁר-עָשִׂיתָ גְדֹלוֹת אֱלֹהִים מִי כָמֽוֹךָ׃
Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!
גַּם-אֲנִי׀ אוֹדְךָ בִכְלִי-נֶבֶל אֲמִתְּךָ אֱלֹהָי אֲזַמְּרָה לְךָ בְכִנּוֹר קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
אֱֽלֹהִים מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לְמֶלֶךְ תֵּן וְצִדְקָתְךָ לְבֶן-מֶֽלֶךְ׃
Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
בָּרוּךְ׀ יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עֹשֵׂה נִפְלָאוֹת לְבַדּֽוֹ׃
Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
אַךְ טוֹב לְיִשְׂרָאֵל אֱלֹהִים לְבָרֵי לֵבָֽב׃
Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
כָּלָה שְׁאֵרִי וּלְבָבִי צוּר-לְבָבִי וְחֶלְקִי אֱלֹהִים לְעוֹלָֽם׃
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
וַאֲנִי׀ קִֽרֲבַת אֱלֹהִים לִי טוֹב שַׁתִּי׀ בַּאדֹנָי יְהוִֹה מַחְסִי לְסַפֵּר כָּל-מַלְאֲכוֹתֶֽיךָ׃
But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
לָמָה אֱלֹהִים זָנַחְתָּ לָנֶצַח יֶעְשַׁן אַפְּךָ בְּצֹאן מַרְעִיתֶֽךָ׃
O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
עַד-מָתַי אֱלֹהִים יְחָרֶף צָר יְנָאֵץ אוֹיֵב שִׁמְךָ לָנֶֽצַח׃
O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?
וֵאלֹהִים מַלְכִּי מִקֶּדֶם פֹּעֵל יְשׁוּעוֹת בְּקֶרֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
קוּמָה אֱלֹהִים רִיבָה רִיבֶךָ זְכֹר חֶרְפָּתְךָ מִנִּי-נָבָל כָּל-הַיּֽוֹם׃
Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.
הוֹדִינוּ לְּךָ׀ אֱֽלֹהִים הוֹדִינוּ וְקָרוֹב שְׁמֶךָ סִפְּרוּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃
Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
כִּֽי-אֱלֹהִים שֹׁפֵט זֶה יַשְׁפִּיל וְזֶה יָרִֽים׃
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
וַאֲנִי אַגִּיד לְעֹלָם אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹֽב׃
But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
נוֹדָע בִּֽיהוּדָה אֱלֹהִים בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל גָּדוֹל שְׁמֽוֹ׃
In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
מִגַּעֲרָתְךָ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב נִרְדָּם וְרֶכֶב וָסֽוּס׃
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
בְּקוּם-לַמִּשְׁפָּט אֱלֹהִים לְהוֹשִׁיעַ כָּל-עַנְוֵי-אֶרֶץ סֶֽלָה׃
When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
נִֽדֲרוּ וְשַׁלְּמוּ לַיהוָה אֱֽלֹהֵיכֶם כָּל-סְבִיבָיו יֹבִילוּ שַׁי לַמּוֹרָֽא׃
Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
קוֹלִי אֶל-אֱלֹהִים וְאֶצְעָקָה קוֹלִי אֶל-אֱלֹהִים וְהַאֲזִין אֵלָֽי׃
I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
אֶזְכְּרָה אֱלֹהִים וְאֶֽהֱמָיָה אָשִׂיחָה׀ וְתִתְעַטֵּף רוּחִי סֶֽלָה׃
I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
אֱלֹהִים בַּקֹּדֶשׁ דַּרְכֶּךָ מִי-אֵל גָּדוֹל כֵּֽאלֹהִֽים׃
Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
רָאוּךָ מַּיִם׀ אֱֽלֹהִים רָאוּךָ מַּיִם יָחִילוּ אַף יִרְגְּזוּ תְהֹמֽוֹת׃
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
וְיָשִׂימוּ בֵֽאלֹהִים כִּסְלָם וְלֹא יִשְׁכְּחוּ מַֽעַלְלֵי-אֵל וּמִצְוֹתָיו יִנְצֹֽרוּ׃
That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
לֹא שָׁמְרוּ בְּרִית אֱלֹהִים וּבְתוֹרָתוֹ מֵאֲנוּ לָלֶֽכֶת׃
They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
וַֽיְדַבְּרוּ בֵּֽאלֹהִים אָמְרוּ הֲיוּכַל אֵל לַעֲרֹךְ שֻׁלְחָן בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃
Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
כִּי לֹא הֶאֱמִינוּ בֵּאלֹהִים וְלֹא בָטְחוּ בִּֽישׁוּעָתֽוֹ׃
Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:
וְאַף אֱלֹהִים׀ עָלָה בָהֶם וַֽיַּהֲרֹג בְּמִשְׁמַנֵּיהֶם וּבַחוּרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הִכְרִֽיעַ׃
The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.
וַֽיִּזְכְּרוּ כִּֽי-אֱלֹהִים צוּרָם וְאֵל עֶלְיוֹן גֹּאֲלָֽם׃
And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
וַיְנַסּוּ וַיַּמְרוּ אֶת-אֱלֹהִים עֶלְיוֹן וְעֵדוֹתָיו לֹא שָׁמָֽרוּ׃
Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
שָׁמַע אֱלֹהִים וַֽיִּתְעַבָּר וַיִּמְאַס מְאֹד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:
אֱֽלֹהִים בָּאוּ גוֹיִם׀ בְּֽנַחֲלָתֶךָ טִמְּאוּ אֶת-הֵיכַל קָדְשֶׁךָ שָׂמוּ אֶת-יְרוּשָׁלִַם לְעִיִּֽים׃
O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
עָזְרֵנוּ׀ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ עַל-דְּבַר כְּבֽוֹד-שְׁמֶךָ וְהַצִּילֵנוּ וְכַפֵּר עַל-חַטֹּאתֵינוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶֽךָ׃
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.
לָמָּה׀ יֹאמְרוּ הַגּוֹיִם אַיֵּה אֱֽלֹהֵיהֶם יִוָּדַע בַּגּוֹיִם לְעֵינֵינוּ נִקְמַת דַּֽם-עֲבָדֶיךָ הַשָּׁפֽוּךְ׃
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.
אֱלֹהִים הֲשִׁיבֵנוּ וְהָאֵר פָּנֶיךָ וְנִוָּשֵֽׁעָה׃
Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים צְבָאוֹת עַד-מָתַי עָשַׁנְתָּ בִּתְפִלַּת עַמֶּֽךָ׃
O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
אֱלֹהִים צְבָאוֹת הֲשִׁיבֵנוּ וְהָאֵר פָּנֶיךָ וְנִוָּשֵֽׁעָה׃
Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
