הִנְנִי עֹמֵד לְפָנֶיךָ שָּׁם׀ עַֽל-הַצּוּר בְּחֹרֵב וְהִכִּיתָ בַצּוּר וְיָֽצְאוּ מִמֶּנּוּ מַיִם וְשָׁתָה הָעָם וַיַּעַשׂ כֵּן מֹשֶׁה לְעֵינֵי זִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה הִנֵּה מָקוֹם אִתִּי וְנִצַּבְתָּ עַל-הַצּֽוּר׃
And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
וְהָיָה בַּֽעֲבֹר כְּבֹדִי וְשַׂמְתִּיךָ בְּנִקְרַת הַצּוּר וְשַׂכֹּתִי כַפִּי עָלֶיךָ עַד-עָבְרִֽי׃
And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
קַח אֶת-הַמַּטֶּה וְהַקְהֵל אֶת-הָֽעֵדָה אַתָּה וְאַֽהֲרֹן אָחִיךָ וְדִבַּרְתֶּם אֶל-הַסֶּלַע לְעֵֽינֵיהֶם וְנָתַן מֵימָיו וְהֽוֹצֵאתָ לָהֶם מַיִם מִן-הַסֶּלַע וְהִשְׁקִיתָ אֶת-הָֽעֵדָה וְאֶת-בְּעִירָֽם׃
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
וַיַּקְהִלוּ מֹשֶׁה וְאַֽהֲרֹן אֶת-הַקָּהָל אֶל-פְּנֵי הַסָּלַע וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם שִׁמְעוּ-נָא הַמֹּרִים הֲמִן-הַסֶּלַע הַזֶּה נוֹצִיא לָכֶם מָֽיִם׃
And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
וַיָּרֶם מֹשֶׁה אֶת-יָדוֹ וַיַּךְ אֶת-הַסֶּלַע בְּמַטֵּהוּ פַּֽעֲמָיִם וַיֵּֽצְאוּ מַיִם רַבִּים וַתֵּשְׁתְּ הָֽעֵדָה וּבְעִירָֽם׃
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
כִּֽי-מֵרֹאשׁ צֻרִים אֶרְאֶנּוּ וּמִגְּבָעוֹת אֲשׁוּרֶנּוּ הֶן-עָם לְבָדָד יִשְׁכֹּן וּבַגּוֹיִם לֹא יִתְחַשָּֽׁב׃
For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
וַיַּרְא אֶת-הַקֵּינִי וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמַר אֵיתָן מֽוֹשָׁבֶךָ וְשִׂים בַּסֶּלַע קִנֶּֽךָ׃
And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
הַמּוֹלִיכֲךָ בַּמִּדְבָּר׀ הַגָּדֹל וְהַנּוֹרָא נָחָשׁ׀ שָׂרָף וְעַקְרָב וְצִמָּאוֹן אֲשֶׁר אֵֽין-מָיִם הַמּוֹצִיא לְךָ מַיִם מִצּוּר הַֽחַלָּמִֽישׁ׃
Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
הַצּוּר תָּמִים פָּֽעֳלוֹ כִּי כָל-דְּרָכָיו מִשְׁפָּט אֵל אֱמוּנָה וְאֵין עָוֶל צַדִּיק וְיָשָׁר הֽוּא׃
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
יַרְכִּבֵהוּ עַל-(במותי) בָּמֳתֵי אָרֶץ וַיֹּאכַל תְּנוּבֹת שָׂדָי וַיֵּֽנִקֵהֽוּ דְבַשׁ מִסֶּלַע וְשֶׁמֶן מֵֽחַלְמִישׁ צֽוּר׃
He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
וַיִּשְׁמַן יְשֻׁרוּן וַיִּבְעָט שָׁמַנְתָּ עָבִיתָ כָּשִׂיתָ וַיִּטֹּשׁ אֱלוֹהַ עָשָׂהוּ וַיְנַבֵּל צוּר יְשֻֽׁעָתֽוֹ׃
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
צוּר יְלָֽדְךָ תֶּשִׁי וַתִּשְׁכַּח אֵל מְחֹֽלְלֶֽךָ׃
Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
אֵיכָה יִרְדֹּף אֶחָד אֶלֶף וּשְׁנַיִם יָנִיסוּ רְבָבָה אִם-לֹא כִּֽי-צוּרָם מְכָרָם וַֽיהוָה הִסְגִּירָֽם׃
How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
כִּי לֹא כְצוּרֵנוּ צוּרָם וְאֹֽיְבֵינוּ פְּלִילִֽים׃
For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
וְאָמַר אֵי אֱלֹהֵימוֹ צוּר חָסָיוּ בֽוֹ׃
And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,
בָּעֵת הַהִיא אָמַר יְהוָה אֶל-יְהוֹשֻׁעַ עֲשֵׂה לְךָ חַֽרְבוֹת צֻרִים וְשׁוּב מֹל אֶת-בְּנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל שֵׁנִֽית׃
At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.
וַיַּֽעַשׂ-לוֹ יְהוֹשֻׁעַ חַֽרְבוֹת צֻרִים וַיָּמָל אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל-גִּבְעַת הָֽעֲרָלֽוֹת׃
And Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.
וּגְבוּל הָֽאֱמֹרִי מִֽמַּעֲלֵה עַקְרַבִּים מֵֽהַסֶּלַע וָמָֽעְלָה׃
And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and upward.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו מַלְאַךְ הָֽאֱלֹהִים קַח אֶת-הַבָּשָׂר וְאֶת-הַמַּצּוֹת וְהַנַּח אֶל-הַסֶּלַע הַלָּז וְאֶת-הַמָּרַק שְׁפוֹךְ וַיַּעַשׂ כֵּֽן׃
And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.
וַיִּשְׁלַח מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה אֶת-קְצֵה הַמִּשְׁעֶנֶת אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדוֹ וַיִּגַּע בַּבָּשָׂר וּבַמַּצּוֹת וַתַּעַל הָאֵשׁ מִן-הַצּוּר וַתֹּאכַל אֶת-הַבָּשָׂר וְאֶת-הַמַּצּוֹת וּמַלְאַךְ יְהוָה הָלַךְ מֵֽעֵינָֽיו׃
Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.
וַֽיִּלְכְּדוּ שְׁנֵֽי-שָׂרֵי מִדְיָן אֶת-עֹרֵב וְאֶת-זְאֵב וַיַּֽהַרְגוּ אֶת-עוֹרֵב בְּצוּר-עוֹרֵב וְאֶת-זְאֵב הָֽרְגוּ בְיֶֽקֶב-זְאֵב וַֽיִּרְדְּפוּ אֶל-מִדְיָן וְרֹאשׁ-עֹרֵב וּזְאֵב הֵבִיאוּ אֶל-גִּדְעוֹן מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃
And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.
וַיִּקַּח מָנוֹחַ אֶת-גְּדִי הָֽעִזִּים וְאֶת-הַמִּנְחָה וַיַּעַל עַל-הַצּוּר לַֽיהוָה וּמַפְלִא לַֽעֲשׂוֹת וּמָנוֹחַ וְאִשְׁתּוֹ רֹאִֽים׃
So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.
וַיַּךְ אוֹתָם שׁוֹק עַל-יָרֵךְ מַכָּה גְדוֹלָה וַיֵּרֶד וַיֵּשֶׁב בִּסְעִיף סֶלַע עֵיטָֽם׃
And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.
וַיֵּֽרְדוּ שְׁלֹשֶׁת אֲלָפִים אִישׁ מִֽיהוּדָה אֶל-סְעִיף סֶלַע עֵיטָם וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ לְשִׁמְשׁוֹן הֲלֹא יָדַעְתָּ כִּֽי-מֹשְׁלִים בָּנוּ פְּלִשְׁתִּים וּמַה-זֹּאת עָשִׂיתָ לָּנוּ וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם כַּֽאֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ לִי כֵּן עָשִׂיתִי לָהֶֽם׃
Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.
וַיֹּאמְרוּ לוֹ לֵאמֹר לֹא כִּֽי-אָסֹר נֶֽאֱסָרְךָ וּנְתַנּוּךָ בְיָדָם וְהָמֵת לֹא נְמִיתֶךָ וַיַּֽאַסְרֻהוּ בִּשְׁנַיִם עֲבֹתִים חֲדָשִׁים וַֽיַּעֲלוּהוּ מִן-הַסָּֽלַע׃
And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.
וַיִּפְנוּ וַיָּנֻסוּ הַמִּדְבָּרָה אֶל-סֶלַע הָֽרִמּוֹן וַיְעֹֽלְלֻהוּ בַּֽמְסִלּוֹת חֲמֵשֶׁת אֲלָפִים אִישׁ וַיַּדְבִּיקוּ אַֽחֲרָיו עַד-גִּדְעֹם וַיַּכּוּ מִמֶּנּוּ אַלְפַּיִם אִֽישׁ׃
And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
וַיִּפְנוּ וַיָּנֻסוּ הַמִּדְבָּרָה אֶל-סֶלַע הָֽרִמּוֹן שֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת אִישׁ וַיֵּֽשְׁבוּ בְּסֶלַע רִמּוֹן אַרְבָּעָה חֳדָשִֽׁים׃
But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
וַֽיִּשְׁלְחוּ כָּל-הָעֵדָה וַֽיְדַבְּרוּ אֶל-בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן אֲשֶׁר בְּסֶלַע רִמּוֹן וַיִּקְרְאוּ לָהֶם שָׁלֽוֹם׃
And the whole congregation sent some to speak to the children of Benjamin that were in the rock Rimmon, and to call peaceably unto them.
אֵין-קָדוֹשׁ כַּֽיהוָה כִּי אֵין בִּלְתֶּךָ וְאֵין צוּר כֵּֽאלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
וְאִישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל רָאוּ כִּי צַר-לוֹ כִּי נִגַּשׂ הָעָם וַיִּֽתְחַבְּאוּ הָעָם בַּמְּעָרוֹת וּבַֽחֲוָחִים וּבַסְּלָעִים וּבַצְּרִחִים וּבַבֹּרֽוֹת׃
When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.
וּבֵין הַֽמַּעְבְּרוֹת אֲשֶׁר בִּקֵּשׁ יֽוֹנָתָן לַֽעֲבֹר עַל-מַצַּב פְּלִשְׁתִּים שֵׁן-הַסֶּלַע מֵֽהָעֵבֶר מִזֶּה וְשֵׁן-הַסֶּלַע מֵֽהָעֵבֶר מִזֶּה וְשֵׁם הָֽאֶחָד בּוֹצֵץ וְשֵׁם הָֽאֶחָד סֶֽנֶּה׃
And between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines' garrison, there was a sharp rock on the one side, and a sharp rock on the other side: and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
וַיֵּלֶךְ שָׁאוּל וַֽאֲנָשָׁיו לְבַקֵּשׁ וַיַּגִּדוּ לְדָוִד וַיֵּרֶד הַסֶּלַע וַיֵּשֶׁב בְּמִדְבַּר מָעוֹן וַיִּשְׁמַע שָׁאוּל וַיִּרְדֹּף אַחֲרֵֽי-דָוִד מִדְבַּר מָעֽוֹן׃
Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David: wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
וַיִּקַּח שָׁאוּל שְׁלֹשֶׁת אֲלָפִים אִישׁ בָּחוּר מִכָּל-יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיֵּלֶךְ לְבַקֵּשׁ אֶת-דָּוִד וַֽאֲנָשָׁיו עַל-פְּנֵי צוּרֵי הַיְּעֵלִֽים׃
Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.
וַתִּקַּח רִצְפָּה בַת-אַיָּה אֶת-הַשַּׂק וַתַּטֵּהוּ לָהּ אֶל-הַצּוּר מִתְּחִלַּת קָצִיר עַד נִתַּךְ-מַיִם עֲלֵיהֶם מִן-הַשָּׁמָיִם וְלֹֽא-נָתְנָה עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם לָנוּחַ עֲלֵיהֶם יוֹמָם וְאֶת-חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה לָֽיְלָה׃
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
וַיֹּאמַר יְהוָה סַֽלְעִי וּמְצֻֽדָתִי וּמְפַלְטִי-לִֽי׃
And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
אֱלֹהֵי צוּרִי אֶֽחֱסֶה-בּוֹ מָֽגִנִּי וְקֶרֶן יִשְׁעִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי וּמְנוּסִי מֹֽשִׁעִי מֵֽחָמָס תֹּֽשִׁעֵֽנִי׃
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
כִּי מִי-אֵל מִבַּלְעֲדֵי יְהוָה וּמִי צוּר מִֽבַּלְעֲדֵי אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
חַי-יְהוָה וּבָרוּךְ צוּרִי וְיָרֻם אֱלֹהֵי צוּר יִשְׁעִֽי׃
The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
אָמַר אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לִי דִבֶּר צוּר יִשְׂרָאֵל מוֹשֵׁל בָּֽאָדָם צַדִּיק מוֹשֵׁל יִרְאַת אֱלֹהִֽים׃
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
וַיֹּאמֶר צֵא וְעָֽמַדְתָּ בָהָר לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְהִנֵּה יְהוָה עֹבֵר וְרוּחַ גְּדוֹלָה וְחָזָק מְפָרֵק הָרִים וּמְשַׁבֵּר סְלָעִים לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לֹא בָרוּחַ יְהוָה וְאַחַר הָרוּחַ רַעַשׁ לֹא בָרַעַשׁ יְהוָֽה׃
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
וַיֵּֽרְדוּ שְֽׁלוֹשָׁה מִן-הַשְּׁלוֹשִׁים רֹאשׁ עַל-הַצֻּר אֶל-דָּוִיד אֶל-מְעָרַת עֲדֻלָּם וּמַֽחֲנֵה פְלִשְׁתִּים חֹנָה בְּעֵמֶק רְפָאִֽים׃
Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
וַֽעֲשֶׂרֶת אֲלָפִים חַיִּים שָׁבוּ בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה וַיְבִיאוּם לְרֹאשׁ הַסָּלַע וַיַּשְׁלִיכוּם מֵֽרֹאשׁ-הַסֶּלַע וְכֻלָּם נִבְקָֽעוּ׃
And other ten thousand left alive did the children of Judah carry away captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces.
וְלֶחֶם מִשָּׁמַיִם נָתַתָּה לָהֶם לִרְעָבָם וּמַיִם מִסֶּלַע הוֹצֵאתָ לָהֶם לִצְמָאָם וַתֹּאמֶר לָהֶם לָבוֹא לָרֶשֶׁת אֶת-הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר-נָשָׂאתָ אֶת-יָֽדְךָ לָתֵת לָהֶֽם׃
And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.
וְאוּלָם הַר-נוֹפֵל יִבּוֹל וְצוּר יֶעְתַּק מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃
And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
טֹֽרֵף נַפְשׁוֹ בְּאַפּוֹ הַֽלְמַעַנְךָ תֵּעָזַב אָרֶץ וְיֶעְתַּק-צוּר מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃
He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?
בְּעֵט-בַּרְזֶל וְעֹפָרֶת לָעַד בַּצּוּר יֵחָצְבֽוּן׃
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
וְשִׁית-עַל-עָפָר בָּצֶר וּבְצוּר נְחָלִים אוֹפִֽיר׃
Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
מִזֶּרֶם הָרִים יִרְטָבוּ וּֽמִבְּלִי מַחְסֶה חִבְּקוּ-צֽוּר׃
They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
בַּצּוּרוֹת יְאֹרִים בִּקֵּעַ וְכָל-יְקָר רָאֲתָה עֵינֽוֹ׃
He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.
בִּרְחֹץ הֲלִיכַי בְּחֵמָה וְצוּר יָצוּק עִמָּדִי פַּלְגֵי-שָֽׁמֶן׃
When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil;
הֲיָדַעְתָּ עֵת לֶדֶת יַעֲלֵי-סָלַע חֹלֵל אַיָּלוֹת תִּשְׁמֹֽר׃
Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
סֶלַע יִשְׁכֹּן וְיִתְלֹנָן עַל שֶׁן-סֶלַע וּמְצוּדָֽה׃
She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
יְהוָה׀ סַֽלְעִי וּמְצוּדָתִי וּמְפַלְטִי אֵלִי צוּרִי אֶֽחֱסֶה-בּוֹ מָֽגִנִּי וְקֶֽרֶן-יִשְׁעִי מִשְׂגַּבִּֽי׃
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
כִּי מִי אֱלוֹהַּ מִבַּלְעֲדֵי יְהוָה וּמִי צוּר זוּלָתִי אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
חַי-יְהוָה וּבָרוּךְ צוּרִי וְיָרוּם אֱלוֹהֵי יִשְׁעִֽי׃
The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
יִֽהְיוּ לְרָצוֹן׀ אִמְרֵי-פִי וְהֶגְיוֹן לִבִּי לְפָנֶיךָ יְהוָה צוּרִי וְגֹאֲלִֽי׃
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
כִּי יִצְפְּנֵנִי׀ בְּסֻכֹּה בְּיוֹם רָעָה יַסְתִּרֵנִי בְּסֵתֶר אָהֳלוֹ בְּצוּר יְרוֹמְמֵֽנִי׃
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
אֵלֶיךָ יְהוָה׀ אֶקְרָא צוּרִי אַֽל-תֶּחֱרַשׁ מִמֶּנִּי פֶּן-תֶּֽחֱשֶׁה מִמֶּנִּי וְנִמְשַׁלְתִּי עִם-יוֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃
Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
הַטֵּה אֵלַי׀ אָזְנְךָ מְהֵרָה הַצִּילֵנִי הֱיֵה לִי׀ לְֽצוּר-מָעוֹז לְבֵית מְצוּדוֹת לְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃
Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
כִּֽי-סַלְעִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אָתָּה וּלְמַעַן שִׁמְךָ תַּֽנְחֵנִי וּֽתְנַהֲלֵֽנִי׃
For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
וַיַּעֲלֵנִי׀ מִבּוֹר שָׁאוֹן מִטִּיט הַיָּוֵן וַיָּקֶם עַל-סֶלַע רַגְלַי כּוֹנֵן אֲשֻׁרָֽי׃
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
אוֹמְרָה׀ לְאֵל סַלְעִי לָמָה שְׁכַחְתָּנִי לָֽמָּה-קֹדֵר אֵלֵךְ בְּלַחַץ אוֹיֵֽב׃
I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ׀ אֵלֶיךָ אֶקְרָא בַּעֲטֹף לִבִּי בְּצוּר-יָרוּם מִמֶּנִּי תַנְחֵֽנִי׃
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
אַךְ-הוּא צוּרִי וִֽישׁוּעָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי לֹא-אֶמּוֹט רַבָּֽה׃
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

עַל-אֱלֹהִים יִשְׁעִי וּכְבוֹדִי צוּר-עֻזִּי מַחְסִי בֵּֽאלֹהִֽים׃
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
הֱיֵה לִי׀ לְצוּר מָעוֹן לָבוֹא תָּמִיד צִוִּיתָ לְהוֹשִׁיעֵנִי כִּֽי-סַלְעִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אָֽתָּה׃
Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
כָּלָה שְׁאֵרִי וּלְבָבִי צוּר-לְבָבִי וְחֶלְקִי אֱלֹהִים לְעוֹלָֽם׃
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
יְבַקַּע צֻרִים בַּמִּדְבָּר וַיַּשְׁקְ כִּתְהֹמוֹת רַבָּֽה׃
He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
וַיּוֹצִא נוֹזְלִים מִסָּלַע וַיּוֹרֶד כַּנְּהָרוֹת מָֽיִם׃
He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
הֵן הִכָּה-צוּר׀ וַיָּזוּבוּ מַיִם וּנְחָלִים יִשְׁטֹפוּ הֲגַם-לֶחֶם יוּכַל תֵּת אִם-יָכִין שְׁאֵר לְעַמּֽוֹ׃
Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?
וַֽיִּזְכְּרוּ כִּֽי-אֱלֹהִים צוּרָם וְאֵל עֶלְיוֹן גֹּאֲלָֽם׃
And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
וַֽיַּאֲכִילֵהוּ מֵחֵלֶב חִטָּה וּמִצּוּר דְּבַשׁ אַשְׂבִּיעֶֽךָ׃
He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
הוּא יִקְרָאֵנִי אָבִי אָתָּה אֵלִי וְצוּר יְשׁוּעָתִֽי׃
He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
אַף-תָּשִׁיב צוּר חַרְבּוֹ וְלֹא הֲקֵימֹתוֹ בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃
Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
לְהַגִּיד כִּֽי-יָשָׁר יְהוָה צוּרִי וְֽלֹא-עַוְלָתָה בּֽוֹ׃
To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
וַיְהִי יְהוָה לִי לְמִשְׂגָּב וֵאלֹהַי לְצוּר מַחְסִֽי׃
But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
לְכוּ נְרַנְּנָה לַיהוָה נָרִיעָה לְצוּר יִשְׁעֵֽנוּ׃
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
הָרִים הַגְּבֹהִים לַיְּעֵלִים סְלָעִים מַחְסֶה לַֽשְׁפַנִּֽים׃
The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
פָּתַח צוּר וַיָּזוּבוּ מָיִם הָלְכוּ בַּצִּיּוֹת נָהָֽר׃
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
הַהֹפְכִי הַצּוּר אֲגַם-מָיִם חַלָּמִישׁ לְמַעְיְנוֹ-מָֽיִם׃
Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
אַשְׁרֵי׀ שֶׁיֹּאחֵז וְנִפֵּץ אֶֽת-עֹלָלַיִךְ אֶל-הַסָּֽלַע׃
Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
נִשְׁמְטוּ בִֽידֵי-סֶלַע שֹׁפְטֵיהֶם וְשָׁמְעוּ אֲמָרַי כִּי נָעֵֽמוּ׃
When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.
בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה׀ צוּרִי הַֽמְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַקְרָב אֶצְבְּעוֹתַי לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃
Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
דֶּרֶךְ הַנֶּשֶׁר׀ בַּשָּׁמַיִם דֶּרֶךְ נָחָשׁ עֲלֵי צוּר דֶּֽרֶךְ-אֳנִיָּה בְלֶב-יָם וְדֶרֶךְ גֶּבֶר בְּעַלְמָֽה׃
The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
שְׁפַנִּים עַם לֹא-עָצוּם וַיָּשִׂימוּ בַסֶּלַע בֵּיתָֽם׃
The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
יוֹנָתִי בְּחַגְוֵי הַסֶּלַע בְּסֵתֶר הַמַּדְרֵגָה הַרְאִינִי אֶת-מַרְאַיִךְ הַשְׁמִיעִנִי אֶת-קוֹלֵךְ כִּי-קוֹלֵךְ עָרֵב וּמַרְאֵיךְ נָאוֶֽה׃
O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.
בּוֹא בַצּוּר וְהִטָּמֵן בֶּֽעָפָר מִפְּנֵי פַּחַד יְהוָה וּמֵהֲדַר גְּאֹנֽוֹ׃
Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
וּבָאוּ בִּמְעָרוֹת צֻרִים וּבִמְחִלּוֹת עָפָר מִפְּנֵי פַּחַד יְהוָה וּמֵהֲדַר גְּאוֹנוֹ בְּקוּמוֹ לַעֲרֹץ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
לָבוֹא בְּנִקְרוֹת הַצֻּרִים וּבִסְעִפֵי הַסְּלָעִים מִפְּנֵי פַּחַד יְהוָה וּמֵהֲדַר גְּאוֹנוֹ בְּקוּמוֹ לַעֲרֹץ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
וּבָאוּ וְנָחוּ כֻלָּם בְּנַחֲלֵי הַבַּתּוֹת וּבִנְקִיקֵי הַסְּלָעִים וּבְכֹל הַנַּעֲצוּצִים וּבְכֹל הַנַּהֲלֹלִֽים׃
And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
וְהָיָה לְמִקְדָּשׁ וּלְאֶבֶן נֶגֶף וּלְצוּר מִכְשׁוֹל לִשְׁנֵי בָתֵּי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְפַח וּלְמוֹקֵשׁ לְיוֹשֵׁב יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
וְעוֹרֵר עָלָיו יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת שׁוֹט כְּמַכַּת מִדְיָן בְּצוּר עוֹרֵב וּמַטֵּהוּ עַל-הַיָּם וּנְשָׂאוֹ בְּדֶרֶךְ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
כִּי שָׁכַחַתְּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵךְ וְצוּר מָעֻזֵּךְ לֹא זָכָרְתְּ עַל-כֵּן תִּטְּעִי נִטְעֵי נַעֲמָנִים וּזְמֹרַת זָר תִּזְרָעֶֽנּוּ׃
Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips:
מַה-לְּךָ פֹה וּמִי לְךָ פֹה כִּֽי-חָצַבְתָּ לְּךָ פֹּה קָבֶר חֹצְבִי מָרוֹם קִבְרוֹ חֹקְקִי בַסֶּלַע מִשְׁכָּן לֽוֹ׃
What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?
בִּטְחוּ בַֽיהוָה עֲדֵי-עַד כִּי בְּיָהּ יְהוָה צוּר עוֹלָמִֽים׃
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD Jehovah is everlasting strength:
הַשִּׁיר יִֽהְיֶה לָכֶם כְּלֵיל הִתְקַדֶּשׁ-חָג וְשִׂמְחַת לֵבָב כַּֽהוֹלֵךְ בֶּֽחָלִיל לָבוֹא בְהַר-יְהוָה אֶל-צוּר יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
וְסַלְעוֹ מִמָּגוֹר יַֽעֲבוֹר וְחַתּוּ מִנֵּס שָׂרָיו נְאֻם-יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר-אוּר לוֹ בְּצִיּוֹן וְתַנּוּר לוֹ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
וְהָיָה-אִישׁ כְּמַֽחֲבֵא-רוּחַ וְסֵתֶר זָרֶם כְּפַלְגֵי-מַיִם בְּצָיוֹן כְּצֵל סֶֽלַע-כָּבֵד בְּאֶרֶץ עֲיֵפָֽה׃
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
