And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה סָלַחְתִּי כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃
And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:
אֲנִי יְהוָה דִּבַּרְתִּי אִם-לֹא׀ זֹאת אֶֽעֱשֶׂה לְכָל-הָֽעֵדָה הָֽרָעָה הַזֹּאת הַנּֽוֹעָדִים עָלָי בַּמִּדְבָּר הַזֶּה יִתַּמּוּ וְשָׁם יָמֻֽתוּ׃
I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
וְהַיָּמִים אֲשֶׁר-הָלַכְנוּ׀ מִקָּדֵשׁ בַּרְנֵעַ עַד אֲשֶׁר-עָבַרְנוּ אֶת-נַחַל זֶרֶד שְׁלֹשִׁים וּשְׁמֹנֶה שָׁנָה עַד-תֹּם כָּל-הַדּוֹר אַנְשֵׁי הַמִּלְחָמָה מִקֶּרֶב הַֽמַּחֲנֶה כַּֽאֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה לָהֶֽם׃
And the space in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them.
וַיִּֽחַר-אַף יְהוָה בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא וַיִּשָּׁבַע לֵאמֹֽר׃
And the LORD's anger was kindled the same time, and he sware, saying,
אֲשֶׁר-נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי בְאַפִּי אִם-יְבֹאוּן אֶל-מְנוּחָתִֽי׃
Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
ἄρα ἀπολείπεται σαββατισμὸς τῷ λαῷ τοῦ θεοῦ
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
עַד-מָתַי לָֽעֵדָה הָֽרָעָה הַזֹּאת אֲשֶׁר הֵמָּה מַלִּינִים עָלָי אֶת-תְּלֻנּוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר הֵמָּה מַלִּינִים עָלַי שָׁמָֽעְתִּי׃
How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
וְהָֽעֲמָלֵקִי וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי יוֹשֵׁב בָּעֵמֶק מָחָר פְּנוּ וּסְעוּ לָכֶם הַמִּדְבָּר דֶּרֶךְ יַם-סֽוּף׃
(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
τίσιν δὲ ὤμοσεν μὴ εἰσελεύσεσθαι εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν
And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
