Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
ὅτι πᾶς ὁ ὑψῶν ἑαυτὸν ταπεινωθήσεται καὶ ὁ ταπεινῶν ἑαυτὸν ὑψωθήσεται
For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
μείζονα δὲ δίδωσιν χάριν διὸ λέγει Ὁ θεὸς ὑπερηφάνοις ἀντιτάσσεται ταπεινοῖς δὲ δίδωσιν χάριν
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
כִּֽי-הִשְׁפִּילוּ וַתֹּאמֶר גֵּוָה וְשַׁח עֵינַיִם יוֹשִֽׁעַ׃
When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
מְקִֽימִי מֵעָפָר דָּל מֵֽאַשְׁפֹּת יָרִים אֶבְיֽוֹן׃
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
καθεῖλεν δυνάστας ἀπὸ θρόνων καὶ ὕψωσεν ταπεινούς
He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
λέγω ὑμῖν κατέβη οὗτος δεδικαιωμένος εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ἢ ἐκεῖνος· ὅτι πᾶς ὁ ὑψῶν ἑαυτὸν ταπεινωθήσεται ὁ δὲ ταπεινῶν ἑαυτὸν ὑψωθήσεται
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
רַגְלֵי (חסידו) חֲסִידָיו יִשְׁמֹר וּרְשָׁעִים בַּחֹשֶׁךְ יִדָּמּוּ כִּי-לֹא בְכֹחַ יִגְבַּר-אִֽישׁ׃
He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
אֲרוֹמִמְךָ יְהוָה כִּי דִלִּיתָנִי וְלֹא-שִׂמַּחְתָּ אֹיְבַי לִֽי׃
I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
וְעַתָּה יָרוּם רֹאשִׁי עַל אֹֽיְבַי סְֽבִיבוֹתַי וְאֶזְבְּחָה בְאָהֳלוֹ זִבְחֵי תְרוּעָה אָשִׁירָה וַאֲזַמְּרָה לַיהוָֽה׃
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
הוֹשִׁיעָה׀ אֶת-עַמֶּךָ וּבָרֵךְ אֶת-נַחֲלָתֶךָ וּֽרְעֵם וְנַשְּׂאֵם עַד-הָעוֹלָֽם׃
Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
