James 5:12
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by earth, neither by any other oath: but let your the yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not thyself, forswear but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
τοῦτο οὖν βουλευόμενος μή τι ἄρα τῇ ἐλαφρίᾳ ἐχρησάμην; ἢ ἃ βουλεύομαι κατὰ σάρκα βουλεύομαι ἵνα ᾖ παρ' ἐμοὶ τὸ Ναὶ ναὶ καὶ τὸ Οὒ οὔ;
When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come together not unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
