Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?

And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ Πιλᾶτος Σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτῷ Σὺ λέγεις
And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it.
Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἔστη ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ ἡγεμόνος· καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ ἡγεμὼν λέγων Σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἔφη αὐτῷ Σὺ λέγεις
And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
ἤρξαντο δὲ κατηγορεῖν αὐτοῦ λέγοντες Τοῦτον εὕρομεν διαστρέφοντα τὸ ἔθνος καὶ κωλύοντα Καίσαρι φόρους διδόναι λέγοντα ἑαυτὸν Χριστὸν βασιλέα εἶναι
And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
βουλόμενός δὲ γνῶναι τὴν αἰτίαν δι' ἣν ἐνεκάλουν αὐτῷ κατήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ συνέδριον αὐτῶν
And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought forth him into their council:
πρὸς οὓς ἀπεκρίθην ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἔθος Ῥωμαίοις χαρίζεσθαί τινα ἄνθρωπον εἰς ἀπώλειαν πρὶν ἢ ὁ κατηγορούμενος κατὰ πρόσωπον ἔχοι τοὺς κατηγόρους τόπον τε ἀπολογίας λάβοι περὶ τοῦ ἐγκλήματος
To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face face, to and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.
