And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.

And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Προσηνέγκατέ μοι τὸν ἄνθρωπον τοῦτον ὡς ἀποστρέφοντα τὸν λαόν καὶ ἰδού ἐγὼ ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν ἀνακρίνας οὐδὲν εὗρον ἐν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τούτῳ αἴτιον ὧν κατηγορεῖτε κατ' αὐτοῦ
Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:
כִּי שָׁמַעְתִּי דִּבַּת רַבִּים מָגוֹר מִסָּבִיב הַגִּידוּ וְנַגִּידֶנּוּ כֹּל אֱנוֹשׁ שְׁלֹמִי שֹׁמְרֵי צַלְעִי אוּלַי יְפֻתֶּה וְנוּכְלָה לוֹ וְנִקְחָה נִקְמָתֵנוּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
συνείδησιν ἔχοντες ἀγαθήν ἵνα ἐν ᾧ καταλαλῶσιν ὑμῶν ὡς κακοποιων καταισχυνθῶσιν οἱ ἐπηρεάζοντες ὑμῶν τὴν ἀγαθὴν ἐν Χριστῷ ἀναστροφήν
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
וַיֹּאמְרוּ הַשָּׂרִים אֶל-הַמֶּלֶךְ יוּמַת נָא אֶת-הָאִישׁ הַזֶּה כִּֽי-עַל-כֵּן הֽוּא-מְרַפֵּא אֶת-יְדֵי אַנְשֵׁי הַמִּלְחָמָה הַֽנִּשְׁאָרִים׀ בָּעִיר הַזֹּאת וְאֵת יְדֵי כָל-הָעָם לְדַבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם כַּדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה כִּי׀ הָאִישׁ הַזֶּה אֵינֶנּוּ דֹרֵשׁ לְשָׁלוֹם לָעָם הַזֶּה כִּי אִם-לְרָעָֽה׃
Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.
ἀπεκρίθησαν καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ Εἰ μὴ ἦν οὗτος κακὸποιός οὐκ ἄν σοι παρεδώκαμεν αὐτόν
They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, not we would have delivered him up unto thee.
וָאַכְחִד אֶת-שְׁלֹשֶׁת הָרֹעִים בְּיֶרַח אֶחָד וַתִּקְצַר נַפְשִׁי בָּהֶם וְגַם-נַפְשָׁם בָּחֲלָה בִֽי׃
Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἀπόδοτε Τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τῷ θεῷ καὶ ἐθαύμασαν ἐπ' αὐτῷ
And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
λέγουσιν αὐτῷ Καίσαρος τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς Ἀπόδοτε οὖν τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τῷ θεῷ
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
אַךְ מִשְּׂאֵתוֹ׀ יָעֲצוּ לְהַדִּיחַ יִרְצוּ כָזָב בְּפִיו יְבָרֵכוּ וּבְקִרְבָּם יְקַלְלוּ-סֶֽלָה׃
They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
καὶ προσαγαγόντες αὐτοὺς τοῖς στρατηγοῖς εἶπον Οὗτοι οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἐκταράσσουσιν ἡμῶν τὴν πόλιν Ἰουδαῖοι ὑπάρχοντες
And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
וְהוֹשִׁיבוּ שְׁנַיִם אֲנָשִׁים בְּנֵֽי-בְלִיַּעַל נֶגְדּוֹ וִֽיעִדֻהוּ לֵאמֹר בֵּרַכְתָּ אֱלֹהִים וָמֶלֶךְ וְהֽוֹצִיאֻהוּ וְסִקְלֻהוּ וְיָמֹֽת׃
And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
καὶ κατηγόρουν αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς πολλά· αὐτὸς δὲ οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίνατο.
And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.
Εἰσῆλθεν οὖν εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον πάλιν ὁ Πιλᾶτος καὶ ἐφώνησεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων
Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
ὁ δὲ ἐσιώπα καὶ οὐδέν ἀπεκρίνατο πάλιν ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ Σὺ εἶ ὁ Χριστὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ εὐλογητοῦ
But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἔσται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου καθήμενος ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς δυνάμεως τοῦ θεοῦ
Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
εὑρόντες γὰρ τὸν ἄνδρα τοῦτον λοιμὸν καὶ κινοῦντα στάσιν πᾶσιν τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις τοῖς κατὰ τὴν οἰκουμένην πρωτοστάτην τε τῆς τῶν Ναζωραίων αἱρέσεως
For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the of sect the Nazarenes:
οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ ὅλον τὸ συνέδριον ἐζήτουν κατὰ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ μαρτυρίαν εἰς τὸ θανατῶσαι αὐτόν καὶ οὐχ εὕρισκον
And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
יְקוּמוּן עֵדֵי חָמָס אֲשֶׁר לֹא-יָדַעְתִּי יִשְׁאָלֽוּנִי׃
False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
