The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
גַּם-אַתְּ בְּדַם-בְּרִיתֵךְ שִׁלַּחְתִּי אֲסִירַיִךְ מִבּוֹר אֵין מַיִם בּֽוֹ׃
As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
רוּחַ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה עָלָי יַעַן מָשַׁח יְהוָה אֹתִי לְבַשֵּׂר עֲנָוִים שְׁלָחַנִי לַחֲבֹשׁ לְנִשְׁבְּרֵי-לֵב לִקְרֹא לִשְׁבוּיִם דְּרוֹר וְלַאֲסוּרִים פְּקַח-קֽוֹחַ׃
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
הֲיֻקַּח מִגִּבּוֹר מַלְקוֹחַ וְאִם-שְׁבִי צַדִּיק יִמָּלֵֽט׃
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
פְּעָמַי הָכֵן בְּאִמְרָתֶךָ וְֽאַל-תַּשְׁלֶט-בִּי כָל-אָֽוֶן׃
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
דֶּֽרֶךְ-מִצְוֹתֶיךָ אָרוּץ כִּי תַרְחִיב לִבִּֽי׃
I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
גַּם מִזֵּדִים׀ חֲשֹׂךְ עַבְדֶּךָ אַֽל-יִמְשְׁלוּ-בִי אָז אֵיתָם וְנִקֵּיתִי מִפֶּשַֽׁע רָֽב׃
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
