Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
כְּעַן אֲנָה נְבֻכַדְנֶצַּר מְשַׁבַּח וּמְרוֹמֵם וּמְהַדַּר לְמֶלֶךְ שְׁמַיָּא דִּי כָל-מַעֲבָדוֹהִי קְשֹׁט וְאֹרְחָתֵהּ דִּין וְדִי מַהְלְכִין בְּגֵוָה יָכִל לְהַשְׁפָּלָֽה׃
Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
יְמִֽינְךָ יְהוָה נֶאְדָּרִי בַּכֹּחַ יְמִֽינְךָ יְהוָה תִּרְעַץ אוֹיֵֽב׃
Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

מוֹלִיךְ לִימִין מֹשֶׁה זְרוֹעַ תִּפְאַרְתּוֹ בּוֹקֵֽעַ מַיִם מִפְּנֵיהֶם לַעֲשׂוֹת לוֹ שֵׁם עוֹלָֽם׃
That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
רַגְלֵי (חסידו) חֲסִידָיו יִשְׁמֹר וּרְשָׁעִים בַּחֹשֶׁךְ יִדָּמּוּ כִּי-לֹא בְכֹחַ יִגְבַּר-אִֽישׁ׃
He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
קוֹל׀ רִנָּה וִֽישׁוּעָה בְּאָהֳלֵי צַדִּיקִים יְמִין יְהוָה עֹשָׂה חָֽיִל׃
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
אַתָּה דִכִּאתָ כֶחָלָל רָהַב בִּזְרוֹעַ עֻזְּךָ פִּזַּרְתָּ אוֹיְבֶֽיךָ׃
Thou hast broken pieces, Rahab in as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
וְאִם-זְרוֹעַ כָּאֵל׀ לָךְ וּבְקוֹל כָּמֹהוּ תַרְעֵֽם׃
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
לְךָ זְרוֹעַ עִם-גְּבוּרָה תָּעֹז יָדְךָ תָּרוּם יְמִינֶֽךָ׃
Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
שָׁמַעְנוּ גְאוֹן-מוֹאָב גֵּאֶה מְאֹד גָּבְהוֹ וּגְאוֹנוֹ וְגַאֲוָתוֹ וְרֻם לִבּֽוֹ׃
We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
διὰ τοῦτο ἐν μιᾷ ἡμέρᾳ ἥξουσιν αἱ πληγαὶ αὐτῆς θάνατος καὶ πένθος καὶ λιμός καὶ ἐν πυρὶ κατακαυθήσεται ὅτι ἰσχυρὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ κρίνων αὐτήν
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
וַיַּרְא יְהוָה כִּי רַבָּה רָעַת הָאָדָם בָּאָרֶץ וְכָל-יֵצֶר מַחְשְׁבֹת לִבּוֹ רַק רַע כָּל-הַיּֽוֹם׃
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
