Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
וְעַתָּה אֲנַחְנוּ מְאַשְּׁרִים זֵדִים גַּם-נִבְנוּ עֹשֵׂי רִשְׁעָה גַּם בָּחֲנוּ אֱלֹהִים וַיִּמָּלֵֽטוּ׃
And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.
אֲשֶׁר נִסּוּנִי אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם בְּחָנוּנִי גַּם-רָאוּ פָעֳלִֽי׃
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
וַיִּתְאַוּוּ תַאֲוָה בַּמִּדְבָּר וַיְנַסּוּ-אֵל בִּֽישִׁימֽוֹן׃
But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
