For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought in into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.
כִּי-כֹה׀ אָמַר יְהוָה לַסָּֽרִיסִים אֲשֶׁר יִשְׁמְרוּ אֶת-שַׁבְּתוֹתַי וּבָֽחֲרוּ בַּאֲשֶׁר חָפָצְתִּי וּמַחֲזִיקִים בִּבְרִיתִֽי׃
For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;

אִם-תָּשִׁיב מִשַּׁבָּת רַגְלֶךָ עֲשׂוֹת חֲפָצֶךָ בְּיוֹם קָדְשִׁי וְקָרָאתָ לַשַּׁבָּת עֹנֶג לִקְדוֹשׁ יְהוָה מְכֻבָּד וְכִבַּדְתּוֹ מֵעֲשׂוֹת דְּרָכֶיךָ מִמְּצוֹא חֶפְצְךָ וְדַבֵּר דָּבָֽר׃
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
Τί οὗτος οὕτως λαλεῖ βλασφημὶας τίς δύναται ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας εἰ μὴ εἷς ὁ θεός
Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
אַשְׁרֵי אֱנוֹשׁ יַעֲשֶׂה-זֹּאת וּבֶן-אָדָם יַחֲזִיק בָּהּ שֹׁמֵר שַׁבָּת מֵֽחַלְּלוֹ וְשֹׁמֵר יָדוֹ מֵעֲשׂוֹת כָּל-רָֽע׃
Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תֵּֽעָשֶׂה מְלָאכָה וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי יִֽהְיֶה לָכֶם קֹדֶשׁ שַׁבַּת שַׁבָּתוֹן לַֽיהוָה כָּל-הָֽעֹשֶׂה בוֹ מְלָאכָה יוּמָֽת׃

τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος τὸ ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου τὴν δὲ ἐν τῷ σῷ ὀφθαλμῷ δοκὸν οὐ κατανοεῖς
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
וּבְנֵי הַנֵּכָר הַנִּלְוִים עַל-יְהוָה לְשָׁרְתוֹ וּֽלְאַהֲבָה אֶת-שֵׁם יְהוָה לִהְיוֹת לוֹ לַעֲבָדִים כָּל-שֹׁמֵר שַׁבָּת מֵֽחַלְּלוֹ וּמַחֲזִיקִים בִּבְרִיתִֽי׃
Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
וַיִּֽהְיוּ בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּמִּדְבָּר וַֽיִּמְצְאוּ אִישׁ מְקֹשֵׁשׁ עֵצִים בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃
And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
