Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
οὐ γὰρ συνῆκαν ἐπὶ τοῖς ἄρτοις ἦν γὰρ ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν πεπωρωμένη
For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
ἐκνήψατε δικαίως καὶ μὴ ἁμαρτάνετε ἀγνωσίαν γὰρ θεοῦ τινες ἔχουσιν πρὸς ἐντροπὴν ὑμῖν λέγω
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
πρὸς ἐντροπὴν ὑμῖν λέγω οὕτως οὐκ ἐστὶν ἐν ὑμῖν σοφὸς οὐδὲ εἷς ὃς δυνήσεται διακρῖναι ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ;
I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
καὶ γνοὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει αὐτοῖς Τί διαλογίζεσθε ὅτι ἄρτους οὐκ ἔχετε οὔπω νοεῖτε οὐδὲ συνίετε ἔτι πεπωρωμένην ἔχετε τὴν καρδίαν ὑμῶν
And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
καὶ ἀναστενάξας τῷ πνεύματι αὐτοῦ λέγει Τί ἡ γενεὰ αὕτη σημεῖον ἐπιζητεῖ ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν εἰ δοθήσεται τῇ γενεᾷ ταύτῃ σημεῖον
And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this seek generation after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no be sign given unto this generation.
πῶς οὐ νοεῖτε ὅτι οὐ περὶ ἄρτοῦ εἶπον ὑμῖν προσέχειν ἀπὸ τῆς ζύμης τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ Σαδδουκαίων
How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοσοῦτον χρόνον μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωκάς με Φίλιππε ὁ ἑωρακὼς ἐμὲ ἑώρακεν τὸν πατέρα· καὶ πῶς σὺ λέγεις Δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ λέγει Ὦ γενεὰ ἄπιστος ἕως πότε πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἔσομαι ἕως πότε ἀνέξομαι ὑμῶν φέρετε αὐτὸν πρός με
He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
