And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
וְיֶתֶר הַגִּלְעָד וְכָל-הַבָּשָׁן מַמְלֶכֶת עוֹג נָתַתִּי לַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה כֹּל חֶבֶל הָֽאַרְגֹּב לְכָל-הַבָּשָׁן הַהוּא יִקָּרֵא אֶרֶץ רְפָאִֽים׃
And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.
יָאִיר בֶּן-מְנַשֶּׁה לָקַח אֶת-כָּל-חֶבֶל אַרְגֹּב עַד-גְּבוּל הַגְּשׁוּרִי וְהַמַּֽעֲכָתִי וַיִּקְרָא אֹתָם עַל-שְׁמוֹ אֶת-הַבָּשָׁן חַוֹּת יָאִיר עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan-havoth-jair, unto this day.
כִּי חֵלֶק יְהוָֹה עַמּוֹ יַֽעֲקֹב חֶבֶל נַֽחֲלָתֽוֹ׃
For the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
וַתּֽוֹרִדֵם בַּחֶבֶל בְּעַד הַֽחַלּוֹן כִּי בֵיתָהּ בְּקִיר הַֽחוֹמָה וּבַֽחוֹמָה הִיא יוֹשָֽׁבֶת׃
Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.
וַיִּפְּלוּ חַבְלֵֽי-מְנַשֶּׁה עֲשָׂרָה לְבַד מֵאֶרֶץ הַגִּלְעָד וְהַבָּשָׁן אֲשֶׁר מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃
And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;
וַֽיְדַבְּרוּ בְּנֵי יוֹסֵף אֶת-יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לֵאמֹר מַדּוּעַ נָתַתָּה לִּי נַֽחֲלָה גּוֹרָל אֶחָד וְחֶבֶל אֶחָד וַֽאֲנִי עַם-רָב עַד אֲשֶׁר-עַד-כֹּה בֵּֽרְכַנִי יְהוָֽה׃
And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?
מֵחֶבֶל בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן כִּֽי-הָיָה חֵלֶק בְּנֵֽי-יְהוּדָה רַב מֵהֶם וַיִּנְחֲלוּ בְנֵֽי-שִׁמְעוֹן בְּתוֹךְ נַֽחֲלָתָֽם׃
Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.
וְשָׁב הַגְּבוּל הָֽרָמָה וְעַד-עִיר מִבְצַר-צֹר וְשָׁב הַגְּבוּל חֹסָה (ויהיו) וְהָיוּ תֹֽצְאֹתָיו הַיָּמָּה מֵחֶבֶל אַכְזִֽיבָה׃
And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:
אַחַר כֵּן תָּבוֹא גִּבְעַת הָֽאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר-שָׁם נְצִבֵי פְלִשְׁתִּים וִיהִי כְבֹֽאֲךָ שָׁם הָעִיר וּפָֽגַעְתָּ חֶבֶל נְבִאִים יֹֽרְדִים מֵֽהַבָּמָה וְלִפְנֵיהֶם נֵבֶל וְתֹף וְחָלִיל וְכִנּוֹר וְהֵמָּה מִֽתְנַבְּאִֽים׃
After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
וַיָּבֹאוּ שָׁם הַגִּבְעָתָה וְהִנֵּה חֶֽבֶל-נְבִאִים לִקְרָאתוֹ וַתִּצְלַח עָלָיו רוּחַ אֱלֹהִים וַיִּתְנַבֵּא בְּתוֹכָֽם׃
And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
וַיַּךְ אֶת-מוֹאָב וַֽיְמַדְּדֵם בַּחֶבֶל הַשְׁכֵּב אוֹתָם אַרְצָה וַיְמַדֵּד שְׁנֵֽי-חֲבָלִים לְהָמִית וּמְלֹא הַחֶבֶל לְהַֽחֲיוֹת וַתְּהִי מוֹאָב לְדָוִד לַֽעֲבָדִים נֹֽשְׂאֵי מִנְחָֽה׃
And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
וְאִם-אֶל-עִיר יֵֽאָסֵף וְהִשִּׂיאוּ כָֽל-יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל-הָעִיר הַהִיא חֲבָלִים וְסָחַבְנוּ אֹתוֹ עַד-הַנַּחַל עַד אֲשֶֽׁר-לֹֽא-נִמְצָא שָׁם גַּם-צְרֽוֹר׃
Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.
חֶבְלֵי שְׁאוֹל סַבֻּנִי קִדְּמֻנִי מֹֽקְשֵׁי-מָֽוֶת׃
The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
בֶּן-גֶּבֶר בְּרָמֹת גִּלְעָד לוֹ חַוֹּת יָאִיר בֶּן-מְנַשֶּׁה אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּלְעָד לוֹ חֶבֶל אַרְגֹּב אֲשֶׁר בַּבָּשָׁן שִׁשִּׁים עָרִים גְּדֹלוֹת חוֹמָה וּבְרִיחַ נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃
The son of Geber, in Ramoth-gilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars:
וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ אֵלָיו עֲבָדָיו הִנֵּה-נָא שָׁמַעְנוּ כִּי מַלְכֵי בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּֽי-מַלְכֵי חֶסֶד הֵם נָשִׂימָה נָּא שַׂקִּים בְּמָתְנֵינוּ וַֽחֲבָלִים בְּרֹאשֵׁנוּ וְנֵצֵא אֶל-מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל אוּלַי יְחַיֶּה אֶת-נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃
And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.
וַיַּחְגְּרוּ שַׂקִּים בְּמָתְנֵיהֶם וַֽחֲבָלִים בְּרָֽאשֵׁיהֶם וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל-מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיֹּאמְרוּ עַבְדְּךָ בֶן-הֲדַד אָמַר תְּחִי-נָא נַפְשִׁי וַיֹּאמֶר הַעוֹדֶנּוּ חַי אָחִי הֽוּא׃
So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
לֵאמֹר לְךָ אֶתֵּן אֶֽרֶץ-כְּנָעַן חֶבֶל נַֽחֲלַתְכֶֽם׃
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
חוּר׀ כַּרְפַּס וּתְכֵלֶת אָחוּז בְּחַבְלֵי-בוּץ וְאַרְגָּמָן עַל-גְּלִילֵי כֶסֶף וְעַמּוּדֵי שֵׁשׁ מִטּוֹת׀ זָהָב וָכֶסֶף עַל רִֽצְפַת בַּֽהַט-וָשֵׁשׁ וְדַר וְסֹחָֽרֶת׃
Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble.
טָמוּן בָּאָרֶץ חַבְלוֹ וּמַלְכֻּדְתּוֹ עֲלֵי נָתִֽיב׃
The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
כַּמָּה׀ נֵר-רְשָׁעִים יִדְעָךְ וְיָבֹא עָלֵימוֹ אֵידָם חֲבָלִים יְחַלֵּק בְּאַפּֽוֹ׃
How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
וְאִם-אֲסוּרִים בַּזִּקִּים יִלָּכְדוּן בְּחַבְלֵי-עֹֽנִי׃
And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
תִּכְרַעְנָה יַלְדֵיהֶן תְּפַלַּחְנָה חֶבְלֵיהֶם תְּשַׁלַּֽחְנָה׃
They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.
תִּמְשֹׁךְ לִוְיָתָן בְּחַכָּה וּבְחֶבֶל תַּשְׁקִיעַ לְשֹׁנֽוֹ׃
Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
חֲבָלִים נָֽפְלוּ-לִי בַּנְּעִמִים אַף-נַחֲלָת שָֽׁפְרָה עָלָֽי׃
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
אֲפָפוּנִי חֶבְלֵי-מָוֶת וְֽנַחֲלֵי בְלִיַּעַל יְבַֽעֲתֽוּנִי׃
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
חֶבְלֵי שְׁאוֹל סְבָבוּנִי קִדְּמוּנִי מוֹקְשֵׁי מָֽוֶת׃
The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
וַיְגָרֶשׁ מִפְּנֵיהֶם׀ גּוֹיִם וַֽיַּפִּילֵם בְּחֶבֶל נַחֲלָה וַיַּשְׁכֵּן בְּאָהֳלֵיהֶם שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
לֵאמֹר לְךָ אֶתֵּן אֶת-אֶֽרֶץ-כְּנָעַן חֶבֶל נַחֲלַתְכֶֽם׃
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
אֲפָפוּנִי׀ חֶבְלֵי-מָוֶת וּמְצָרֵי שְׁאוֹל מְצָאוּנִי צָרָה וְיָגוֹן אֶמְצָֽא׃
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
חֶבְלֵי רְשָׁעִים עִוְּדֻנִי תּֽוֹרָתְךָ לֹא שָׁכָֽחְתִּי׃
The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
טָֽמְנֽוּ-גֵאִים׀ פַּח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד-מַעְגָּל מֹקְשִׁים שָֽׁתוּ-לִי סֶֽלָה׃
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
עֲֽווֹנֹתָיו יִלְכְּדֻנוֹ אֶת-הָרָשָׁע וּבְחַבְלֵי חַטָּאתוֹ יִתָּמֵֽךְ׃
His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
עַד אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-(ירחק) יֵרָתֵק חֶבֶל הַכֶּסֶף וְתָרֻץ גֻּלַּת הַזָּהָב וְתִשָּׁבֶר כַּד עַל-הַמַּבּוּעַ וְנָרֹץ הַגַּלְגַּל אֶל-הַבּֽוֹר׃
Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
הוֹי מֹשְׁכֵי הֶֽעָוֹן בְּחַבְלֵי הַשָּׁוְא וְכַעֲבוֹת הָעֲגָלָה חַטָּאָֽה׃
Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
וְֽנִבְהָלוּ׀ צִירִים וַֽחֲבָלִים יֹֽאחֵזוּן כַּיּוֹלֵדָה יְחִילוּן אִישׁ אֶל-רֵעֵהוּ יִתְמָהוּ פְּנֵי לְהָבִים פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃
And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
כְּמוֹ הָרָה תַּקְרִיב לָלֶדֶת תָּחִיל תִּזְעַק בַּחֲבָלֶיהָ כֵּן הָיִינוּ מִפָּנֶיךָ יְהוָֽה׃
Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.
חֲזֵה צִיּוֹן קִרְיַת מֽוֹעֲדֵנוּ עֵינֶיךָ תִרְאֶינָה יְרוּשָׁלִַם נָוֶה שַׁאֲנָן אֹהֶל בַּל-יִצְעָן בַּל-יִסַּע יְתֵֽדֹתָיו לָנֶצַח וְכָל-חֲבָלָיו בַּל-יִנָּתֵֽקוּ׃
Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
נִטְּשׁוּ חֲבָלָיִךְ בַּל-יְחַזְּקוּ כֵן-תָּרְנָם בַּל-פָּרְשׂוּ נֵס אָז חֻלַּק עַֽד-שָׁלָל מַרְבֶּה פִּסְחִים בָּזְזוּ בַֽז׃
Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
בְּטֶרֶם תָּחִיל יָלָדָה בְּטֶרֶם יָבוֹא חֵבֶל לָהּ וְהִמְלִיטָה זָכָֽר׃
Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
מַה-תֹּֽאמְרִי כִּֽי-יִפְקֹד עָלַיִךְ וְאַתְּ לִמַּדְתְּ אֹתָם עָלַיִךְ אַלֻּפִים לְרֹאשׁ הֲלוֹא חֲבָלִים יֹאחֱזוּךְ כְּמוֹ אֵשֶׁת לֵדָֽה׃
What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
(ישבתי) יֹשַׁבְתְּ בַּלְּבָנוֹן (מקננתי) מְקֻנַּנְתְּ בָּֽאֲרָזִים מַה-נֵּחַנְתְּ בְּבֹא-לָךְ חֲבָלִים חִיל כַּיֹּלֵדָֽה׃
O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!
וַיִּקְחוּ אֶֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ וַיַּשְׁלִכוּ אֹתוֹ אֶל-הַבּוֹר׀ מַלְכִּיָּהוּ בֶן-הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר בַּחֲצַר הַמַּטָּרָה וַיְשַׁלְּחוּ אֶֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ בַּחֲבָלִים וּבַבּוֹר אֵֽין-מַיִם כִּי אִם-טִיט וַיִּטְבַּע יִרְמְיָהוּ בַּטִּֽיט׃
Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.
וַיִּקַּח׀ עֶֽבֶד-מֶלֶךְ אֶת-הָאֲנָשִׁים בְּיָדוֹ וַיָּבֹא בֵית-הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל-תַּחַת הָאוֹצָר וַיִּקַּח מִשָּׁם בְּלוֹיֵ (הסחבות) סְחָבוֹת וּבְלוֹיֵ מְלָחִים וַיְשַׁלְּחֵם אֶֽל-יִרְמְיָהוּ אֶל-הַבּוֹר בַּחֲבָלִֽים׃
So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.
וַיֹּאמֶר עֶבֶד-מֶלֶךְ הַכּוּשִׁי אֶֽל-יִרְמְיָהוּ שִׂים נָא בְּלוֹאֵי הַסְּחָבוֹת וְהַמְּלָחִים תַּחַת אַצִּלוֹת יָדֶיךָ מִתַּחַת לַחֲבָלִים וַיַּעַשׂ יִרְמְיָהוּ כֵּֽן׃
And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.
וַיִּמְשְׁכוּ אֶֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ בַּֽחֲבָלִים וַיַּעֲלוּ אֹתוֹ מִן-הַבּוֹר וַיֵּשֶׁב יִרְמְיָהוּ בַּחֲצַר הַמַּטָּרָֽה׃
So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.
רָפְתָה דַמֶּשֶׂק הִפְנְתָה לָנוּס וְרֶטֶט׀ הֶחֱזִיקָה צָרָה וַחֲבָלִים אֲחָזַתָּה כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃
Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
הֵמָּה רֹכְלַיִךְ בְּמַכְלֻלִים בִּגְלוֹמֵי תְּכֵלֶת וְרִקְמָה וּבְגִנְזֵי בְּרֹמִים בַּחֲבָלִים חֲבֻשִׁים וַאֲרֻזִים בְּמַרְכֻלְתֵּֽךְ׃
These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.
כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה גֵּה גְבוּל אֲשֶׁר תִּתְנַחֲלוּ אֶת-הָאָרֶץ לִשְׁנֵי עָשָׂר שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יוֹסֵף חֲבָלִֽים׃
Thus saith the Lord GOD; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions.
בְּחַבְלֵי אָדָם אֶמְשְׁכֵם בַּעֲבֹתוֹת אַהֲבָה וָאֶהְיֶה לָהֶם כִּמְרִימֵי עֹל עַל לְחֵיהֶם וְאַט אֵלָיו אוֹכִֽיל׃
I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
חֶבְלֵי יֽוֹלֵדָה יָבֹאוּ לוֹ הוּא-בֵן לֹא חָכָם כִּֽי-עֵת לֹֽא-יַעֲמֹד בְּמִשְׁבַּר בָּנִֽים׃
The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
לָכֵן כֹּה-אָמַר יְהוָה אִשְׁתְּךָ בָּעִיר תִּזְנֶה וּבָנֶיךָ וּבְנֹתֶיךָ בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ וְאַדְמָתְךָ בַּחֶבֶל תְּחֻלָּק וְאַתָּה עַל-אֲדָמָה טְמֵאָה תָּמוּת וְיִשְׂרָאֵל גָּלֹה יִגְלֶה מֵעַל אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
לָכֵן לֹֽא-יִֽהְיֶה לְךָ מַשְׁלִיךְ חֶבֶל בְּגוֹרָל בִּקְהַל יְהוָֽה׃
Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.
קוּמוּ וּלְכוּ כִּי לֹא-זֹאת הַמְּנוּחָה בַּעֲבוּר טָמְאָה תְּחַבֵּל וְחֶבֶל נִמְרָֽץ׃
Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
הוֹי יֹֽשְׁבֵי חֶבֶל הַיָּם גּוֹי כְּרֵתִים דְּבַר-יְהוָה עֲלֵיכֶם כְּנַעַן אֶרֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּים וְהַאֲבַדְתִּיךְ מֵאֵין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃
Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
וְֽהָיְתָה חֶבֶל הַיָּם נְוֹת כְּרֹת רֹעִים וְגִדְרוֹת צֹֽאן׃
And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
וְהָיָה חֶבֶל לִשְׁאֵרִית בֵּית יְהוּדָה עֲלֵיהֶם יִרְעוּן בְּבָתֵּי אַשְׁקְלוֹן בָּעֶרֶב יִרְבָּצוּן כִּי יִפְקְדֵם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וְשָׁב (שבותם) שְׁבִיתָֽם׃
And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
וָאֶשָּׂא עֵינַי וָאֵרֶא וְהִנֵּה-אִישׁ וּבְיָדוֹ חֶבֶל מִדָּֽה׃
I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
וָֽאֶרְעֶה אֶת-צֹאן הַֽהֲרֵגָה לָכֵן עֲנִיֵּי הַצֹּאן וָאֶקַּֽח-לִי שְׁנֵי מַקְלוֹת לְאַחַד קָרָאתִי נֹעַם וּלְאַחַד קָרָאתִי חֹֽבְלִים וָאֶרְעֶה אֶת-הַצֹּֽאן׃
And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
וָֽאֶגְדַּע אֶת-מַקְלִי הַשֵּׁנִי אֵת הַחֹֽבְלִים לְהָפֵר אֶת-הָֽאַחֲוָה בֵּין יְהוּדָה וּבֵין יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
