There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve to be the unjust unto the day of judgment punished:
καὶ ῥύσεταί με ὁ κύριος ἀπὸ παντὸς ἔργου πονηροῦ καὶ σώσει εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ τὴν ἐπουράνιον· ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων ἀμήν
And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
πιστὸς δέ ἐστιν ὁ κύριος ὃς στηρίξει ὑμᾶς καὶ φυλάξει ἀπὸ τοῦ πονηροῦ
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
Νήψατε γρηγορήσατε ὅτι ὁ ἀντίδικος ὑμῶν διάβολος ὡς λέων ὠρυόμενος περιπατεῖ ζητῶν τινα καταπίῃ·
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Οὔπω μέχρις αἵματος ἀντικατέστητε πρὸς τὴν ἁμαρτίαν ἀνταγωνιζόμενοι
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
οἴδαμεν δὲ ὅτι τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν τὸν θεὸν πάντα συνεργεῖ εἰς ἀγαθόν τοῖς κατὰ πρόθεσιν κλητοῖς οὖσιν
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
ὑπὲρ τούτου τρὶς τὸν κύριον παρεκάλεσα ἵνα ἀποστῇ ἀπ' ἐμοῦ
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἡμῖν ἡ πάλη πρὸς αἷμα καὶ σάρκα ἀλλὰ πρὸς τὰς ἀρχάς πρὸς τὰς ἐξουσίας πρὸς τοὺς κοσμοκράτορας τοῦ σκότους τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου πρὸς τὰ πνευματικὰ τῆς πονηρίας ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Τί καθεύδετε ἀναστάντες προσεύχεσθε ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς πειρασμόν
And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
כִּי אָנֹכִי יָדַעְתִּי אֶת-הַמַּחֲשָׁבֹת אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי חֹשֵׁב עֲלֵיכֶם נְאֻם-יְהוָה מַחְשְׁבוֹת שָׁלוֹם וְלֹא לְרָעָה לָתֵת לָכֶם אַחֲרִית וְתִקְוָֽה׃
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
הֵן אִיתַי אֱלָהַנָא דִּֽי-אֲנַחְנָא פָֽלְחִין יָכִל לְשֵׁיזָבוּתַנָא מִן-אַתּוּן נוּרָא יָקִֽדְתָּא וּמִן-יְדָךְ מַלְכָּא יְשֵׁיזִֽב׃
If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, he will deliver us and out of thine hand, O king.
וְיָדַעְתָּ כִּֽי-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ הוּא הָֽאֱלֹהִים הָאֵל הַֽנֶּאֱמָן שֹׁמֵר הַבְּרִית וְהַחֶסֶד לְאֹֽהֲבָיו וּלְשֹֽׁמְרֵי (מצותו) מִצְוֺתָיו לְאֶלֶף דּֽוֹר׃
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
ὅτι ἐτήρησας τὸν λόγον τῆς ὑπομονῆς μου κἀγώ σε τηρήσω ἐκ τῆς ὥρας τοῦ πειρασμοῦ τῆς μελλούσης ἔρχεσθαι ἐπὶ τῆς οἰκουμένης ὅλης πειράσαι τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
ὃς ἐκ τηλικούτου θανάτου ἐῤῥύσατο ἡμᾶς καὶ ῥύεται εἰς ὃν ἠλπίκαμεν ὅτι καὶ ἔτι ῥύσεται
Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
ὑπόδειγμα λάβετε τῆς κακοπαθείας ἀδελφοί μου καὶ τῆς μακροθυμίας τοὺς προφήτας οἳ ἐλάλησαν τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
μηδὲν φοβοῦ ἃ μέλλεις πάσχειν ἰδού μέλλει βάλειν ἐξ ὑμῶν ὁ διάβολος εἰς φυλακὴν ἵνα πειρασθῆτε καὶ ἕξετε θλῖψιν ἡμερῶν δέκα γίνου πιστὸς ἄχρι θανάτου καὶ δώσω σοι τὸν στέφανον τῆς ζωῆς
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
ὥστε καὶ οἱ πάσχοντες κατὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ ὡς πιστῷ κτίστῃ παρατιθέσθωσαν τὰς ψυχὰς ἑαυτῶν ἐν ἀγαθοποιΐᾳ
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
κἀγὼ ζωὴν αἰώνιον δίδωμι αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀπόλωνται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ οὐχ ἁρπάσει τις αὐτὰ ἐκ τῆς χειρός μου
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
