וּבְאֵלֶּה לֹא-הָיָה אִישׁ מִפְּקוּדֵי מֹשֶׁה וְאַֽהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן אֲשֶׁר פָּֽקְדוּ אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּמִדְבַּר סִינָֽי׃
But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
וַיִּשָּׂא יָדוֹ לָהֶם לְהַפִּיל אוֹתָם בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃
Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה עַד-אָנָה יְנַֽאֲצֻנִי הָעָם הַזֶּה וְעַד-אָנָה לֹֽא-יַאֲמִינוּ בִי בְּכֹל הָֽאֹתוֹת אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
אֱמֹר אֲלֵהֶם חַי-אָנִי נְאֻם-יְהוָה אִם-לֹא כַּֽאֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתֶּם בְּאָזְנָי כֵּן אֶֽעֱשֶׂה לָכֶֽם׃
Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
בְּכָל-זֹאת חָֽטְאוּ-עוֹד וְלֹֽא-הֶאֱמִינוּ בְּנִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו׃
For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.
וַיִּשְׁמַע יְהוָה אֶת-קוֹל דִּבְרֵיכֶם וַיִּקְצֹף וַיִּשָּׁבַע לֵאמֹֽר׃
And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,
אֲשֶׁר-נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי בְאַפִּי אִם-יְבֹאוּן אֶל-מְנוּחָתִֽי׃
Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
וְגַם יַד-יְהוָה הָיְתָה בָּם לְהֻמָּם מִקֶּרֶב הַֽמַּחֲנֶה עַד תֻּמָּֽם׃
For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.
אֲֽדֹנָי מָעוֹן אַתָּה הָיִיתָ לָּנוּ בְּדֹר וָדֹֽר׃
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
כִּֽי-כָלִינוּ בְאַפֶּךָ וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ נִבְהָֽלְנוּ׃
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
