For though I be free from all men, yet have I made servant myself unto all, that I might gain the more.
εἴ πως παραζηλώσω μου τὴν σάρκα καὶ σώσω τινὰς ἐξ αὐτῶν
If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
Ἀδελφοί ἐὰν καὶ προληφθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἔν τινι παραπτώματι ὑμεῖς οἱ πνευματικοὶ καταρτίζετε τὸν τοιοῦτον ἐν πνεύματι πρᾳότητος σκοπῶν σεαυτόν μὴ καὶ σὺ πειρασθῇς
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
διόπερ εἰ βρῶμα σκανδαλίζει τὸν ἀδελφόν μου οὐ μὴ φάγω κρέα εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἵνα μὴ τὸν ἀδελφόν μου σκανδαλίσω
Wherefore, if meat make my to brother offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
τί γὰρ οἶδας γύναι εἰ τὸν ἄνδρα σώσεις ἢ τί οἶδας ἄνερ εἰ τὴν γυναῖκα σώσεις
For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
τίς ἀσθενεῖ καὶ οὐκ ἀσθενῶ τίς σκανδαλίζεται καὶ οὐκ ἐγὼ πυροῦμαι
Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?
