προσερχώμεθα οὖν μετὰ παῤῥησίας τῷ θρόνῳ τῆς χάριτος ἵνα λάβωμεν ἔλεον καὶ χάριν εὕρωμεν εἰς εὔκαιρον βοήθειαν
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
εἰ δὲ χάριτι οὐκέτι ἐξ ἔργων ἐπεὶ ἡ χάρις οὐκέτι γίνεται χάρις εἰ δὲ ἐξ ἔργων· οὐκέτι ἐστὶν χάρις ἐπεὶ τὸ ἔργον οὐκέτι ἐστίν ἔργον
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
τὸν πρότερον ὄντα βλάσφημον καὶ διώκτην καὶ ὑβριστήν ἀλλ' ἠλεήθην ὅτι ἀγνοῶν ἐποίησα ἐν ἀπιστίᾳ·
Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
ἀλλὰ λέγω μὴ οὐκ ἔγνω Ἰσραὴλ πρῶτος Μωσῆς λέγει Ἐγὼ παραζηλώσω ὑμᾶς ἐπ' οὐκ ἔθνει ἐπὶ ἔθνει ἀσυνέτῳ παροργιῶ ὑμᾶς
But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke to jealousy you by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
ὥσπερ γὰρ καὶ ὑμεῖς ποτε ἠπειθήσατε τῷ θεῷ νῦν δὲ ἠλεήθητε τῇ τούτων ἀπειθείᾳ
For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Περὶ δὲ τῶν παρθένων ἐπιταγὴν κυρίου οὐκ ἔχω γνώμην δὲ δίδωμι ὡς ἠλεημένος ὑπὸ κυρίου πιστὸς εἶναι
Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.
