Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
παρακαλοῦμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς ἀδελφοί νουθετεῖτε τοὺς ἀτάκτους παραμυθεῖσθε τοὺς ὀλιγοψύχους ἀντέχεσθε τῶν ἀσθενῶν μακροθυμεῖτε πρὸς πάντας
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
ἐγὼ ὅσους ἐὰν φιλῶ ἐλέγχω καὶ παιδεύω· ζήλωσον οὖν καὶ μετανόησον
As many as I I love, rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
ἕως ἔρχομαι πρόσεχε τῇ ἀναγνώσει τῇ παρακλήσει τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Ταῦτα λάλει καὶ παρακάλει καὶ ἔλεγχε μετὰ πάσης ἐπιταγῆς· μηδείς σου περιφρονείτω
These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
ἐὰν οὖν τις ἐκκαθάρῃ ἑαυτὸν ἀπὸ τούτων ἔσται σκεῦος εἰς τιμήν ἡγιασμένον καὶ εὔχρηστον τῷ δεσπότῃ εἰς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἡτοιμασμένον
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for use, the master's and prepared unto every good work.
ἡ μαρτυρία αὕτη ἐστὶν ἀληθής δι' ἣν αἰτίαν ἔλεγχε αὐτοὺς ἀποτόμως ἵνα ὑγιαίνωσιν ἐν τῇ πίστει
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Κοινωνείτω δὲ ὁ κατηχούμενος τὸν λόγον τῷ κατηχοῦντι ἐν πᾶσιν ἀγαθοῖς
Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
τῇ ἐλπίδι χαίροντες τῇ θλίψει ὑπομένοντες τῇ προσευχῇ προσκαρτεροῦντες
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
ὃν ἡμεῖς καταγγέλλομεν νουθετοῦντες πάντα ἄνθρωπον καὶ διδάσκοντες πάντα ἄνθρωπον ἐν πάσῃ σοφίᾳ ἵνα παραστήσωμεν πάντα ἄνθρωπον τέλειον ἐν Χριστῷ· Ἰησοῦ·
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
τοὺς ἁμαρτάνοντας ἐνώπιον πάντων ἔλεγχε ἵνα καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ φόβον ἔχωσιν
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
Πνεῦμα κυρίου ἐπ' ἐμέ οὗ ἕνεκεν ἔχρισέν με εὐαγγελίζεσθαι πτωχοῖς ἀπέσταλκέν με ἰὰσασθαι τοὺς συντετριμμένους τὴν καρδίαν κηρύξαι αἰχμαλώτοις ἄφεσιν καὶ τυφλοῖς ἀνάβλεψιν ἀποστεῖλαι τεθραυσμένους ἐν ἀφέσει
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Σὺ δὲ παρηκολούθηκάς μου τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ τῇ ἀγωγῇ τῇ προθέσει τῇ πίστει τῇ μακροθυμίᾳ τῇ ἀγάπῃ τῇ ὑπομονῇ
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
קוּם לֵךְ אֶל-נִֽינְוֵה הָעִיר הַגְּדוֹלָה וִּקְרָא אֵלֶיהָ אֶת-הַקְּרִיאָה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי דֹּבֵר אֵלֶֽיךָ׃
Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
ἧς ἐγενόμην ἐγὼ διάκονος κατὰ τὴν οἰκονομίαν τοῦ θεοῦ τὴν δοθεῖσάν μοι εἰς ὑμᾶς πληρῶσαι τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of which is God given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
πῶς δὲ κηρύξουσιν ἐὰν μὴ ἀποσταλῶσιν καθὼς γέγραπται Ὡς ὡραῖοι οἱ πόδες τῶν εὐαγγελιζομένων εἰρήνην τῶν εὐαγγελιζομένων τὰ ἀγαθά
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
οἱ δὲ εἶπον Πίστευσον ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν καὶ σωθήσῃ σὺ καὶ ὁ οἶκός σου
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
τῇ τε ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων ἐξήλθομεν ἔξω τῆς πόλεως παρὰ ποταμὸν οὗ ἐνομίζετο προσευχή εἶναι καὶ καθίσαντες ἐλαλοῦμεν ταῖς συνελθούσαις γυναιξίν
And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
ἔμεινεν δὲ ὁ Παῦλος διετίαν ὅλην ἐν ἰδίῳ μισθώματι καὶ ἀπεδέχετο πάντας τοὺς εἰσπορευομένους πρὸς αὐτόν
And Paul dwelt two years whole in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἐγὼ βρῶσιν ἔχω φαγεῖν ἣν ὑμεῖς οὐκ οἴδατε
But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know of. not
