And when he had declared all things these unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
וּבָאוּ הַכַּשְׂדִּים הַנִּלְחָמִים עַל-הָעִיר הַזֹּאת וְהִצִּיתוּ אֶת-הָעִיר הַזֹּאת בָּאֵשׁ וּשְׂרָפוּהָ וְאֵת הַבָּתִּים אֲשֶׁר קִטְּרוּ עַל-גַּגּֽוֹתֵיהֶם לַבַּעַל וְהִסִּכוּ נְסָכִים לֵאלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים לְמַעַן הַכְעִסֵֽנִי׃

ἡμεῖς δὲ τῇ προσευχῇ καὶ τῇ διακονίᾳ τοῦ λόγου προσκαρτερήσομεν
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
σὺ δὲ ὅταν προσεύχῃ εἴσελθε εἰς τὸ ταμιεῖόν σου καὶ κλείσας τὴν θύραν σου πρόσευξαι τῷ πατρί σου τῷ ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ· καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ ἀποδώσει σοι ἐν τῷ φανερῷ

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
πάλιν ἐξελθὼν περὶ ἕκτην καὶ ἐννάτην ὥραν ἐποίησεν ὡσαύτως
Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
וַיֵּֽרְדוּ מֵֽהַבָּמָה הָעִיר וַיְדַבֵּר עִם-שָׁאוּל עַל-הַגָּֽג׃
And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.
Ἐγὼ ἤμην ἐν πόλει Ἰόππῃ προσευχόμενος καὶ εἶδον ἐν ἐκστάσει ὅραμα καταβαῖνον σκεῦός τι ὡς ὀθόνην μεγάλην τέσσαρσιν ἀρχαῖς καθιεμένην ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἦλθεν ἄχρις ἐμοῦ·
I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
καὶ ἀποταξάμενος αὐτοῖς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸ ὄρος προσεύξασθαι
And when he had sent away, them he departed into a mountain to pray.
ὁ ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος μὴ καταβαινέτω ἆραι τι ἐκ τῆς οἰκίας αὐτοῦ
Let him come which is on the housetop not down to take any thing out of his house:
Ἀπὸ δὲ ἕκτης ὥρας σκότος ἐγένετο ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἕως ὥρας ἐννάτης
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
διὰ πάσης προσευχῆς καὶ δεήσεως προσευχόμενοι ἐν παντὶ καιρῷ ἐν πνεύματι καὶ εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἀγρυπνοῦντες ἐν πάσῃ προσκαρτερήσει καὶ δεήσει περὶ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Βούλομαι οὖν προσεύχεσθαι τοὺς ἄνδρας ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ ἐπαίροντας ὁσίους χεῖρας χωρὶς ὀργῆς καὶ διαλογισμοῦ
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
