And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalms 18

יָשֶׁת חֹשֶׁךְ׀ סִתְרוֹ סְבִֽיבוֹתָיו סֻכָּתוֹ חֶשְׁכַת-מַיִם עָבֵי שְׁחָקִֽים׃

He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

וַיֵּרָאוּ׀ אֲפִיקֵי מַיִם וַֽיִּגָּלוּ מוֹסְדוֹת תֵּבֵל מִגַּעֲרָתְךָ יְהוָה מִנִּשְׁמַת רוּחַ אַפֶּֽךָ׃

Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

יִשְׁלַח מִמָּרוֹם יִקָּחֵנִי יַֽמְשֵׁנִי מִמַּיִם רַבִּֽים׃

He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

Psalms 22

כַּמַּיִם נִשְׁפַּכְתִּי וְהִתְפָּֽרְדוּ כָּֽל-עַצְמוֹתָי הָיָה לִבִּי כַּדּוֹנָג נָמֵס בְּתוֹךְ מֵעָֽי׃

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

Psalms 23

בִּנְאוֹת דֶּשֶׁא יַרְבִּיצֵנִי עַל-מֵי מְנֻחוֹת יְנַהֲלֵֽנִי׃

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Psalms 29

קוֹל יְהוָה עַל-הַמָּיִם אֵֽל-הַכָּבוֹד הִרְעִים יְהוָה עַל-מַיִם רַבִּֽים׃

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.

Psalms 32

עַל-זֹאת יִתְפַּלֵּל כָּל-חָסִיד׀ אֵלֶיךָ לְעֵת מְצֹא רַק לְשֵׁטֶף מַיִם רַבִּים אֵלָיו לֹא יַגִּֽיעוּ׃

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

כֹּנֵס כַּנֵּד מֵי הַיָּם נֹתֵן בְּאוֹצָרוֹת תְּהוֹמֽוֹת׃

He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

Psalms 42

כְּאַיָּל תַּעֲרֹג עַל-אֲפִֽיקֵי-מָיִם כֵּן נַפְשִׁי תַעֲרֹג אֵלֶיךָ אֱלֹהִֽים׃

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Psalms 46

יֶהֱמוּ יֶחְמְרוּ מֵימָיו יִרְעֲשֽׁוּ הָרִים בְּגַאֲוָתוֹ סֶֽלָה׃

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

Psalms 58

יִמָּאֲסוּ כְמוֹ-מַיִם יִתְהַלְּכוּ-לָמוֹ יִדְרֹךְ חִצָּיו כְּמוֹ יִתְמֹלָֽלוּ׃

Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי אֱלֹהִים כִּי בָאוּ מַיִם עַד-נָֽפֶשׁ׃

Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.

טָבַעְתִּי׀ בִּיוֵן מְצוּלָה וְאֵין מָעֳמָד בָּאתִי בְמַעֲמַקֵּי-מַיִם וְשִׁבֹּלֶת שְׁטָפָֽתְנִי׃

I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

הַצִּילֵנִי מִטִּיט וְאַל-אֶטְבָּעָה אִנָּצְלָה מִשֹּֽׂנְאַי וּמִמַּעֲמַקֵּי מָֽיִם׃

Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

אַל-תִּשְׁטְפֵנִי׀ שִׁבֹּלֶת מַיִם וְאַל-תִּבְלָעֵנִי מְצוּלָה וְאַל-תֶּאְטַר-עָלַי בְּאֵר פִּֽיהָ׃

Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

Psalms 73

לָכֵן׀ יָשׁוּב עַמּוֹ הֲלֹם וּמֵי מָלֵא יִמָּצוּ לָֽמוֹ׃

Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

אַתָּה פוֹרַרְתָּ בְעָזְּךָ יָם שִׁבַּרְתָּ רָאשֵׁי תַנִּינִים עַל-הַמָּֽיִם׃

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

רָאוּךָ מַּיִם׀ אֱֽלֹהִים רָאוּךָ מַּיִם יָחִילוּ אַף יִרְגְּזוּ תְהֹמֽוֹת׃

The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

זֹרְמוּ מַיִם׀ עָבוֹת קוֹל נָתְנוּ שְׁחָקִים אַף-חֲצָצֶיךָ יִתְהַלָּֽכוּ׃

The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.

בַּיָּם דַּרְכֶּךָ וּֽשְׁבִֽילְךָ בְּמַיִם רַבִּים וְעִקְּבוֹתֶיךָ לֹא נֹדָֽעוּ׃

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

Psalms 78

בָּקַע יָם וַיַּֽעֲבִירֵם וַֽיַּצֶּב-מַיִם כְּמוֹ-נֵֽד׃

He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.

וַיּוֹצִא נוֹזְלִים מִסָּלַע וַיּוֹרֶד כַּנְּהָרוֹת מָֽיִם׃

He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

הֵן הִכָּה-צוּר׀ וַיָּזוּבוּ מַיִם וּנְחָלִים יִשְׁטֹפוּ הֲגַם-לֶחֶם יוּכַל תֵּת אִם-יָכִין שְׁאֵר לְעַמּֽוֹ׃

Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

Psalms 79

שָׁפְכוּ דָמָם׀ כַּמַּיִם סְֽבִיבוֹת יְֽרוּשָׁלִָם וְאֵין קוֹבֵֽר׃

Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.

Psalms 81

בַּצָּרָה קָרָאתָ וָאֲחַלְּצֶךָּ אֶעֶנְךָ בְּסֵתֶר רַעַם אֶבְחָֽנְךָ עַל-מֵי מְרִיבָה סֶֽלָה׃

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

סַבּוּנִי כַמַּיִם כָּל-הַיּוֹם הִקִּיפוּ עָלַי יָֽחַד׃

They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.

Psalms 93

מִקֹּלוֹת׀ מַיִם רַבִּים אַדִּירִים מִשְׁבְּרֵי-יָם אַדִּיר בַּמָּרוֹם יְהוָֽה׃

The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Psalms 104

הַמְקָרֶֽה בַמַּיִם עֲֽלִיּוֹתָיו הַשָּׂם-עָבִים רְכוּבוֹ הַֽמְהַלֵּךְ עַל-כַּנְפֵי-רֽוּחַ׃

Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

תְּהוֹם כַּלְּבוּשׁ כִּסִּיתוֹ עַל-הָרִים יַעַמְדוּ מָֽיִם׃

Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

Psalms 105

הָפַךְ אֶת-מֵימֵיהֶם לְדָם וַיָּמֶת אֶת-דְּגָתָֽם׃

He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

פָּתַח צוּר וַיָּזוּבוּ מָיִם הָלְכוּ בַּצִּיּוֹת נָהָֽר׃

He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

Psalms 106

וַיְכַסּוּ-מַיִם צָרֵיהֶם אֶחָד מֵהֶם לֹא נוֹתָֽר׃

And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

וַיַּקְצִיפוּ עַל-מֵי מְרִיבָה וַיֵּרַע לְמֹשֶׁה בַּעֲבוּרָֽם׃

They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

יוֹרְדֵי הַיָּם בָּאֳנִיּוֹת עֹשֵׂי מְלָאכָה בְּמַיִם רַבִּֽים׃

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

יָשֵׂם נְהָרוֹת לְמִדְבָּר וּמֹצָאֵי מַיִם לְצִמָּאֽוֹן׃

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

יָשֵׂם מִדְבָּר לַֽאֲגַם-מַיִם וְאֶרֶץ צִיָּה לְמֹצָאֵי מָֽיִם׃

He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

Psalms 109

וַיִּלְבַּשׁ קְלָלָה כְּמַדּוֹ וַתָּבֹא כַמַּיִם בְּקִרְבּוֹ וְכַשֶּׁמֶן בְּעַצְמוֹתָֽיו׃

As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

Psalms 114

הַהֹפְכִי הַצּוּר אֲגַם-מָיִם חַלָּמִישׁ לְמַעְיְנוֹ-מָֽיִם׃

Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

פַּלְגֵי-מַיִם יָרְדוּ עֵינָי עַל לֹא-שָׁמְרוּ תוֹרָתֶֽךָ׃

Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.

Psalms 124

אֲזַי הַמַּיִם שְׁטָפוּנוּ נַחְלָה עָבַר עַל-נַפְשֵֽׁנוּ׃

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

אֲזַי עָבַר עַל-נַפְשֵׁנוּ הַמַּיִם הַזֵּֽידוֹנִֽים׃

Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

Psalms 136

לְרֹקַע הָאָרֶץ עַל-הַמָּיִם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

שְׁלַח יָדֶיךָ מִמָּרוֹם פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִמַּיִם רַבִּים מִיַּד בְּנֵי נֵכָֽר׃

Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;

He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

הַֽלְלוּהוּ שְׁמֵי הַשָּׁמָיִם וְהַמַּיִם אֲשֶׁר׀ מֵעַל הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

Proverbs 5

שְׁתֵה-מַיִם מִבּוֹרֶךָ וְנֹזְלִים מִתּוֹךְ בְּאֵרֶֽךָ׃

Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.

Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.

Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

מַיִם עֲמֻקִּים דִּבְרֵי פִי-אִישׁ נַחַל נֹבֵעַ מְקוֹר חָכְמָֽה׃

The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Proverbs 25

אִם-רָעֵב שֹׂנַאֲךָ הַאֲכִלֵהוּ לָחֶם וְאִם-צָמֵא הַשְׁקֵהוּ מָֽיִם׃

If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

מַיִם קָרִים עַל-נֶפֶשׁ עֲיֵפָה וּשְׁמוּעָה טוֹבָה מֵאֶרֶץ מֶרְחָֽק׃

As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

כַּמַּיִם הַפָּנִים לַפָּנִים כֵּן לֵֽב-הָאָדָם לָאָדָֽם׃

As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

שְׁאוֹל וְעֹצֶר רָחַם אֶרֶץ לֹא-שָׂבְעָה מַּיִם וְאֵשׁ לֹא-אָמְרָה הֽוֹן׃

The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

Isaiah 11

לֹֽא-יָרֵעוּ וְלֹֽא-יַשְׁחִיתוּ בְּכָל-הַר קָדְשִׁי כִּֽי-מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ דֵּעָה אֶת-יְהוָה כַּמַּיִם לַיָּם מְכַסִּֽים׃

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 12

וּשְׁאַבְתֶּם-מַיִם בְּשָׂשׂוֹן מִמַּעַיְנֵי הַיְשׁוּעָֽה׃

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.

For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.

הוֹי הֲמוֹן עַמִּים רַבִּים כַּהֲמוֹת יַמִּים יֶהֱמָיוּן וּשְׁאוֹן לְאֻמִּים כִּשְׁאוֹן מַיִם כַּבִּירִים יִשָּׁאֽוּן׃

Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!

לְאֻמִּים כִּשְׁאוֹן מַיִם רַבִּים יִשָּׁאוּן וְגָעַר בּוֹ וְנָס מִמֶּרְחָק וְרֻדַּף כְּמֹץ הָרִים לִפְנֵי-רוּחַ וּכְגַלְגַּל לִפְנֵי סוּפָֽה׃

The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

Isaiah 18

הַשֹּׁלֵחַ בַּיָּם צִירִים וּבִכְלֵי-גֹמֶא עַל-פְּנֵי-מַיִם לְכוּ׀ מַלְאָכִים קַלִּים אֶל-גּוֹי מְמֻשָּׁךְ וּמוֹרָט אֶל-עַם נוֹרָא מִן-הוּא וָהָלְאָה גּוֹי קַו-קָו וּמְבוּסָה אֲשֶׁר-בָּזְאוּ נְהָרִים אַרְצֽוֹ׃

That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

Isaiah 19

וְנִשְּׁתוּ-מַיִם מֵֽהַיָּם וְנָהָר יֶחֱרַב וְיָבֵֽשׁ׃

And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.

וְאָנוּ הַדַּיָּגִים וְאָבְלוּ כָּל-מַשְׁלִיכֵי בַיְאוֹר חַכָּה וּפֹרְשֵׂי מִכְמֹרֶת עַל-פְּנֵי-מַיִם אֻמְלָֽלוּ׃

The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.

Isaiah 21

לִקְרַאת צָמֵא הֵתָיוּ מָיִם יֹשְׁבֵי אֶרֶץ תֵּימָא בְּלַחְמוֹ קִדְּמוּ נֹדֵֽד׃

The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.

Isaiah 22

וְאֵת בְּקִיעֵי עִיר-דָּוִד רְאִיתֶם כִּי-רָבּוּ וַֽתְּקַבְּצוּ אֶת-מֵי הַבְּרֵכָה הַתַּחְתּוֹנָֽה׃

Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

וּמִקְוָה׀ עֲשִׂיתֶם בֵּין הַחֹמֹתַיִם לְמֵי הַבְּרֵכָה הַיְשָׁנָה וְלֹא הִבַּטְתֶּם אֶל-עֹשֶׂיהָ וְיֹצְרָהּ מֵֽרָחוֹק לֹא רְאִיתֶֽם׃

Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.

Isaiah 23

וּבְמַיִם רַבִּים זֶרַע שִׁחֹר קְצִיר יְאוֹר תְּבֽוּאָתָהּ וַתְּהִי סְחַר גּוֹיִֽם׃

And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

Isaiah 25

כִּֽי-תָנוּחַ יַד-יְהוָה בָּהָר הַזֶּה וְנָדוֹשׁ מוֹאָב תַּחְתָּיו כְּהִדּוּשׁ מַתְבֵּן ‫(במי)‬ בְּמוֹ מַדְמֵנָֽה׃

For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

Isaiah 28

הִנֵּה חָזָק וְאַמִּץ לַֽאדֹנָי כְּזֶרֶם בָּרָד שַׂעַר קָטֶב כְּזֶרֶם מַיִם כַּבִּירִים שֹׁטְפִים הִנִּיחַ לָאָרֶץ בְּיָֽד׃

Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

וְשַׂמְתִּי מִשְׁפָּט לְקָו וּצְדָקָה לְמִשְׁקָלֶת וְיָעָה בָרָד מַחְסֵה כָזָב וְסֵתֶר מַיִם יִשְׁטֹֽפוּ׃

Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Isaiah 30

וּשְׁבָרָהּ כְּשֵׁבֶר נֵבֶל יוֹצְרִים כָּתוּת לֹא יַחְמֹל וְלֹֽא-יִמָּצֵא בִמְכִתָּתוֹ חֶרֶשׂ לַחְתּוֹת אֵשׁ מִיָּקוּד וְלַחְשֹׂף מַיִם מִגֶּֽבֶא׃

And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

וְנָתַן לָכֶם אֲדֹנָי לֶחֶם צָר וּמַיִם לָחַץ וְלֹֽא-יִכָּנֵף עוֹד מוֹרֶיךָ וְהָיוּ עֵינֶיךָ רֹאוֹת אֶת-מוֹרֶֽיךָ׃

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
