A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

εἴ τίς ἐστιν ἀνέγκλητος μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἀνήρ τέκνα ἔχων πιστά μὴ ἐν κατηγορίᾳ ἀσωτίας ἢ ἀνυπότακτα
If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
ταῖς χρείαις τῶν ἁγίων κοινωνοῦντες τὴν φιλοξενίαν διώκοντες
Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Χήρα καταλεγέσθω μὴ ἔλαττον ἐτῶν ἑξήκοντα γεγονυῖα ἑνὸς ἀνδρὸς γυνή
Let not be taken into the a widow number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,
καὶ οὗτοι δὲ δοκιμαζέσθωσαν πρῶτον εἶτα διακονείτωσαν ἀνέγκλητοι ὄντες
And let these be also first proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
Νήψατε γρηγορήσατε ὅτι ὁ ἀντίδικος ὑμῶν διάβολος ὡς λέων ὠρυόμενος περιπατεῖ ζητῶν τινα καταπίῃ·
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
τῆς φιλοξενίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε διὰ ταύτης γὰρ ἔλαθόν τινες ξενίσαντες ἀγγέλους
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
ἵνα γένησθε ἄμεμπτοι καὶ ἀκέραιοι τέκνα θεοῦ ἀμώμητα ἐν μέσῳ γενεᾶς σκολιᾶς καὶ διεστραμμένης ἐν οἷς φαίνεσθε ὡς φωστῆρες ἐν κόσμῳ
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
πρεσβύτας νηφαλίους εἶναι σεμνούς σώφρονας ὑγιαίνοντας τῇ πίστει τῇ ἀγάπῃ τῇ ὑπομονῇ·
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
κωλυόντων γαμεῖν ἀπέχεσθαι βρωμάτων ἃ ὁ θεὸς ἔκτισεν εἰς μετάληψιν μετὰ εὐχαριστίας τοῖς πιστοῖς καὶ ἐπεγνωκόσιν τὴν ἀλήθειαν
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
Πάντων δὲ τὸ τέλος ἤγγικεν σωφρονήσατε οὖν καὶ νήψατε εἰς τὰς προσευχάς·
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
ἦσαν δὲ δίκαιοι ἀμφότεροι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ πορευόμενοι ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ἐντολαῖς καὶ δικαιώμασιν τοῦ κυρίου ἄμεμπτοι
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
μέτοχοι γὰρ γεγόναμεν τοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐάνπερ τὴν ἀρχὴν τῆς ὑποστάσεως μέχρι τέλους βεβαίαν κατάσχωμεν
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
(צפו) צֹפָיו עִוְרִים כֻּלָּם לֹא יָדָעוּ כֻּלָּם כְּלָבִים אִלְּמִים לֹא יוּכְלוּ לִנְבֹּחַ הֹזִים שֹֽׁכְבִים אֹהֲבֵי לָנֽוּם׃
His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
