And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
מַֽה-תַּעֲשׂוּ לְיוֹם מוֹעֵד וּלְיוֹם חַג-יְהוָֽה׃
What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
ἐγένετο δὲ ἀποθανεῖν τὸν πτωχὸν καὶ ἀπενεχθῆναι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀγγέλων εἰς τὸν κόλπον τοῦ Ἀβραάμ· ἀπέθανεν δὲ καὶ ὁ πλούσιος καὶ ἐτάφη
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
καὶ οὐκ ἤθελησεν ἐπὶ χρόνον μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα εἶπεν ἐν ἑαυτῷ Εἰ καὶ τὸν θεὸν οὐ φοβοῦμαι καὶ ἄνθρωπον οὐκ ἐντρέπομαι
And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
תַּאֲוַת עָצֵל תְּמִיתֶנּוּ כִּֽי-מֵאֲנוּ יָדָיו לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃
The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
גַּם מִתְרַפֶּה בִמְלַאכְתּוֹ אָח הוּא לְבַעַל מַשְׁחִֽית׃
He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
אָמַר עָצֵל שַׁחַל בַּדָּרֶךְ אֲרִי בֵּין הָרְחֹבֽוֹת׃
The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
מִתְאַוָּה וָאַיִן נַפְשׁוֹ עָצֵל וְנֶפֶשׁ חָרֻצִים תְּדֻשָּֽׁן׃
The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
הַנְּבִאִים נִבְּאוּ בַשֶּׁקֶר וְהַכֹּהֲנִים יִרְדּוּ עַל-יְדֵיהֶם וְעַמִּי אָהֲבוּ כֵן וּמַֽה-תַּעֲשׂוּ לְאַחֲרִיתָֽהּ׃
The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
עַל-שְׂדֵה אִישׁ-עָצֵל עָבַרְתִּי וְעַל-כֶּרֶם אָדָם חֲסַר-לֵֽב׃
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
Καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς Ἰεριχώ καὶ ἐκπορευομένου αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Ἰεριχὼ καὶ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ὄχλου ἱκανοῦ υἱὸς Τιμαίου Βαρτιμαῖος ὁ τυφλὸς ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν προσαιτῶν
And they came to Jericho: and as he out went of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
Οἱ οὖν γείτονες καὶ οἱ θεωροῦντες αὐτὸν τὸ πρότερον ὅτι τυφλὸς ἦν ἔλεγον Οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ καθήμενος καὶ προσαιτῶν
The neighbours therefore, and they which had before seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
καί τις ἀνὴρ χωλὸς ἐκ κοιλίας μητρὸς αὐτοῦ ὑπάρχων ἐβαστάζετο ὃν ἐτίθουν καθ' ἡμέραν πρὸς τὴν θύραν τοῦ ἱεροῦ τὴν λεγομένην Ὡραίαν τοῦ αἰτεῖν ἐλεημοσύνην παρὰ τῶν εἰσπορευομένων εἰς τὸ ἱερόν·
And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
מֵחֹרֶף עָצֵל לֹא-יַחֲרֹשׁ (ישאל) וְשָׁאַל בַּקָּצִיר וָאָֽיִן׃
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
πτωχὸς δέ τις ἦν ὀνόματι Λάζαρος ὃς ἐβέβλητο πρὸς τὸν πυλῶνα αὐτοῦ ἡλκωμένος
And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
ἀκούομεν γάρ τινας περιπατοῦντας ἐν ὑμῖν ἀτάκτως μηδὲν ἐργαζομένους ἀλλὰ περιεργαζομένους·
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
καὶ διελογίζετο ἐν ἑαυτῷ λέγων Τί ποιήσω ὅτι οὐκ ἔχω ποῦ συνάξω τοὺς καρπούς μου
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
עַצְלָה תַּפִּיל תַּרְדֵּמָה וְנֶפֶשׁ רְמִיָּה תִרְעָֽב׃
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
