For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
בֶּן-אָדָם צֹפֶה נְתַתִּיךָ לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל וְשָׁמַעְתָּ מִפִּי דָּבָר וְהִזְהַרְתָּ אוֹתָם מִמֶּֽנִּי׃
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
בֶּן-אָדָם דַּבֵּר אֶל-בְּנֵֽי-עַמְּךָ וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם אֶרֶץ כִּֽי-אָבִיא עָלֶיהָ חָרֶב וְלָקְחוּ עַם-הָאָרֶץ אִישׁ אֶחָד מִקְצֵיהֶם וְנָתְנוּ אֹתוֹ לָהֶם לְצֹפֶֽה׃
Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
Ὥστε ἀδελφοί μου ἀγαπητοί ἑδραῖοι γίνεσθε ἀμετακίνητοι περισσεύοντες ἐν τῷ ἔργῳ τοῦ κυρίου πάντοτε εἰδότες ὅτι ὁ κόπος ὑμῶν οὐκ ἔστιν κενὸς ἐν κυρίῳ
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
καὶ δώσω σοι τὰς κλεῖς τῆς βασιλείας τῶν οὐρανῶν καὶ ὃ ἐὰν δήσῃς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται δεδεμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς καὶ ὃ ἐὰν λύσῃς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται λελυμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
ἐγὼ γὰρ οἶδα τοῦτο ὅτι εἰσελεύσονται μετὰ τὴν ἄφιξίν μου λύκοι βαρεῖς εἰς ὑμᾶς μὴ φειδόμενοι τοῦ ποιμνίου
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
εἶπεν οὖν Ἄνθρωπός τις εὐγενὴς ἐπορεύθη εἰς χώραν μακρὰν λαβεῖν ἑαυτῷ βασιλείαν καὶ ὑποστρέψαι
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
εἰδότες ὅτι ἀπὸ κυρίου ἀπολήψεσθε τὴν ἀνταπόδοσιν τῆς κληρονομίας τῷ γὰρ κυρίῳ Χριστῷ δουλεύετε·
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
διὰ τοῦτο γὰρ καὶ φόρους τελεῖτε· λειτουργοὶ γὰρ θεοῦ εἰσιν εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο προσκαρτεροῦντες
For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
τίς οὖν ἐστιν Παῦλος τίς δέ Ἀπολλῶς ἀλλ' ἢ διάκονοι δι' ὧν ἐπιστεύσατε καὶ ἑκάστῳ ὡς ὁ κύριος ἔδωκεν
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
