Ἐγένετο δὲ Ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι αὐτοὺς καὶ αὐτὸς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς κώμην τινά· γυνὴ δέ τις ὀνόματι Μάρθα ὑπεδέξατο αὐτόν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὑτῆς

Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

ἡ δὲ Μάρθα περιεσπᾶτο περὶ πολλὴν διακονίαν· ἐπιστᾶσα δὲ εἶπεν Κύριε οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἡ ἀδελφή μου μόνην με κατέλιπεν διακονεῖν εἰπὲ οὖν αὐτῇ ἵνα μοι συναντιλάβηται

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ὁ Ἰησοῦς Μάρθα Μάρθα μεριμνᾷς καὶ τυρβάζῃ περὶ πολλά

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

John 11

Ἦν δέ τις ἀσθενῶν Λάζαρος ἀπὸ Βηθανίας ἐκ τῆς κώμης Μαρίας καὶ Μάρθας τῆς ἀδελφῆς αὐτῆς

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

ἠγάπα δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν Μάρθαν καὶ τὴν ἀδελφὴν αὐτῆς καὶ τὸν Λάζαρον

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

καὶ πολλοὶ ἐκ τῶν Ἰουδαίων ἐληλύθεισαν πρὸς τὰς περὶ Μάρθαν καὶ Μαρίαν ἵνα παραμυθήσωνται αὐτὰς περὶ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτῶν

And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

ἡ οὖν Μάρθα ὡς ἤκουσεν ὅτι ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἔρχεται ὑπήντησεν αὐτῷ· Μαρία δὲ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ ἐκαθέζετο

Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

εἶπεν οὖν ἡ Μάρθα πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν Κύριε εἰ ἦς ὧδε ὁ ἀδελφός μου· οὐκ ἂν ἐτεθνήκει

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother not had died.

λέγει αὐτῷ Μάρθα Οἶδα ὅτι ἀναστήσεται ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει ἐν τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

οὔπω δὲ ἐληλύθει ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν κώμην ἀλλ' ἦν ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ὅπου ὑπήντησεν αὐτῷ ἡ Μάρθα

Now Jesus was not yet come into the that town, but was in place where Martha met him.

λέγει ὁ Ἰησοῦς Ἄρατε τὸν λίθον λέγει αὐτῷ ἡ ἀδελφὴ τοῦ τεθνηκότος Μάρθα Κύριε ἤδη ὄζει τεταρταῖος γάρ ἐστιν

Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

John 12

ἐποίησαν οὖν αὐτῷ δεῖπνον ἐκεῖ καὶ ἡ Μάρθα διηκόνει ὁ δὲ Λάζαρος εἷς ἦν τῶν συνανακειμένων αὐτῷ

There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that at the table sat with him.
