Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
ἕκαστος καθὼς ἔλαβεν χάρισμα εἰς ἑαυτοὺς αὐτὸ διακονοῦντες ὡς καλοὶ οἰκονόμοι ποικίλης χάριτος θεοῦ
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one another, to as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
ἔχοντες δὲ χαρίσματα κατὰ τὴν χάριν τὴν δοθεῖσαν ἡμῖν διάφορα εἴτε προφητείαν κατὰ τὴν ἀναλογίαν τῆς πίστεως
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Ταύτην ἤδη ἀγαπητοί δευτέραν ὑμῖν γράφω ἐπιστολήν ἐν αἷς διεγείρω ὑμῶν ἐν ὑπομνήσει τὴν εἰλικρινῆ διάνοιαν
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
κήρυξον τὸν λόγον ἐπίστηθι εὐκαίρως ἀκαίρως ἔλεγξον ἐπιτίμησον παρακάλεσον ἐν πάσῃ μακροθυμίᾳ καὶ διδαχῇ
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Διὸ οὐκ ἀμελήσω ὑμᾶς ἀεὶ ὑπομιμνῄσκειν περὶ τούτων καίπερ εἰδότας καὶ ἐστηριγμένους ἐν τῇ παρούσῃ ἀληθείᾳ
Wherefore I will not be negligent to put in remembrance you always of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
καὶ ᾧ μὲν ἔδωκεν πέντε τάλαντα ᾧ δὲ δύο ᾧ δὲ ἕν ἑκάστῳ κατὰ τὴν ἰδίαν δύναμιν καὶ ἀπεδήμησεν εὐθέως
And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
וַיִּקְרָא מֹשֶׁה אֶל-בְּצַלְאֵל וְאֶל-אָֽהֳלִיאָב וְאֶל כָּל-אִישׁ חֲכַם-לֵב אֲשֶׁר נָתַן יְהוָה חָכְמָה בְּלִבּוֹ כֹּל אֲשֶׁר נְשָׂאוֹ לִבּוֹ לְקָרְבָה אֶל-הַמְּלָאכָה לַֽעֲשֹׂת אֹתָֽהּ׃
And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:
וְכָל-הַנָּשִׁים אֲשֶׁר נָשָׂא לִבָּן אֹתָנָה בְּחָכְמָה טָווּ אֶת-הָֽעִזִּֽים׃
And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats' hair.
καὶ ἐπιθέντος αὐτοῖς τοῦ Παύλου τὰς χεῖρας ἦλθεν τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἐπ' αὐτούς ἐλάλουν τε γλώσσαις καὶ προεφήτευον
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
τότε ἐπετίθουν τὰς χεῖρας ἐπ' αὐτούς καὶ ἐλάμβανον πνεῦμα ἅγιον
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
καλέσας δὲ δέκα δούλους ἑαυτοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς δέκα μνᾶς καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Πραγματεύσασθε ἕως ἔρχομαι
And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
Ταῦτα ὑπομίμνῃσκε διαμαρτυρόμενος ἐνώπιον τοῦ Κυρίοῦ μὴ λογομαχεῖν εἰς οὐδὲν χρήσιμον ἐπὶ καταστροφῇ τῶν ἀκουόντων
Of these things put in remembrance, them charging them before the Lord that they strive about words not to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
Ταῦτα ὑποτιθέμενος τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καλὸς ἔσῃ διάκονος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐντρεφόμενος τοῖς λόγοις τῆς πίστεως καὶ τῆς καλῆς διδασκαλίας ᾗ παρηκολούθηκας·
If thou put in remembrance of the brethren these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
הַזְכִּירֵנִי נִשָּׁפְטָה יָחַד סַפֵּר אַתָּה לְמַעַן תִּצְדָּֽק׃
Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
Ὑπομνῆσαι δὲ ὑμᾶς βούλομαι εἰδότας ὑμᾶς ἅπαξ τοῦτο ὅτι ὁ Κύριος λαὸν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου σώσας τὸ δεύτερον τοὺς μὴ πιστεύσαντας ἀπώλεσεν
I will therefore put in remembrance, you though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
βαπτισμῶν διδαχῆς ἐπιθέσεώς τε χειρῶν ἀναστάσεώς τε νεκρῶν καὶ κρίματος αἰωνίου
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
