The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
ἀπεκρίθη οὖν ἐκεῖνος καὶ εἶπεν Εἰ ἁμαρτωλός ἐστιν οὐκ οἶδα· ἓν οἶδα ὅτι τυφλὸς ὢν ἄρτι βλέπω
He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
ἀπεκρίθη ἐκεῖνος καὶ εἶπέν ἄνθρωπος λεγόμενος Ἰησοῦς πηλὸν ἐποίησεν καὶ ἐπέχρισέν μου τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς καὶ εἶπέν μοι Ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν κολυμβήθραν τοῦ Σιλωὰμ καὶ νίψαι· ἀπελθὼν δὲ καὶ νιψάμενος ἀνέβλεψα
He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
πάλιν οὖν ἠρώτων αὐτὸν καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι πῶς ἀνέβλεψεν ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Πηλὸν ἐπέθηκέν ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ ἐνιψάμην καὶ βλέπω
Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἐν γὰρ τούτῳ θαυμαστόν ἐστιν ὅτι ὑμεῖς οὐκ οἴδατε πόθεν ἐστίν καὶ ἀνέῳξεν μου τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς
The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
Καὶ αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ μαρτυρία τοῦ Ἰωάννου ὅτε ἀπέστειλαν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἐξ Ἱεροσολύμων ἱερεῖς καὶ Λευίτας ἵνα ἐρωτήσωσιν αὐτὸν Σὺ τίς εἶ
And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
ἠρώτησαν οὖν αὐτόν Τίς ἐστιν ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ εἰπών σοι Ἆρον τὸν κράββατον σου καὶ περιπάτει
Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
ἀπεκρίθησαν καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ Ἐν ἁμαρτίαις σὺ ἐγεννήθης ὅλος καὶ σὺ διδάσκεις ἡμᾶς καὶ ἐξέβαλον αὐτὸν ἔξω
They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
