Genesis 4

וַיֹּאמֶר לֶמֶךְ לְנָשָׁיו עָדָה וְצִלָּה שְׁמַעַן קוֹלִי נְשֵׁי לֶמֶךְ הַאְזֵנָּה אִמְרָתִי כִּי אִישׁ הָרַגְתִּי לְפִצְעִי וְיֶלֶד לְחַבֻּרָתִֽי׃
23
And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.

Genesis 21

וַיִּגְדַּל הַיֶּלֶד וַיִּגָּמַל וַיַּעַשׂ אַבְרָהָם מִשְׁתֶּה גָדוֹל בְּיוֹם הִגָּמֵל אֶת-יִצְחָֽק׃

And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
וַיַּשְׁכֵּם אַבְרָהָם׀ בַּבֹּקֶר וַיִּֽקַּֽח-לֶחֶם וְחֵמַת מַיִם וַיִּתֵּן אֶל-הָגָר שָׂם עַל-שִׁכְמָהּ וְאֶת-הַיֶּלֶד וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֶהָ וַתֵּלֶךְ וַתֵּתַע בְּמִדְבַּר בְּאֵר שָֽׁבַע׃

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
וַיִּכְלוּ הַמַּיִם מִן-הַחֵמֶת וַתַּשְׁלֵךְ אֶת-הַיֶּלֶד תַּחַת אַחַד הַשִּׂיחִֽם׃

And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
וַתֵּלֶךְ וַתֵּשֶׁב לָהּ מִנֶּגֶד הַרְחֵק כִּמְטַֽחֲוֵי קֶשֶׁת כִּי אָֽמְרָה אַל-אֶרְאֶה בְּמוֹת הַיָּלֶד וַתֵּשֶׁב מִנֶּגֶד וַתִּשָּׂא אֶת-קֹלָהּ וַתֵּֽבְךְּ׃
16
And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.

Genesis 30

תְּנָה אֶת-נָשַׁי וְאֶת-יְלָדַי אֲשֶׁר עָבַדְתִּי אֹֽתְךָ בָּהֵן וְאֵלֵכָה כִּי אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ אֶת-עֲבֹֽדָתִי אֲשֶׁר עֲבַדְתִּֽיךָ׃

Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.

Genesis 32

וַיָּקָם׀ בַּלַּיְלָה הוּא וַיִּקַּח אֶת-שְׁתֵּי נָשָׁיו וְאֶת-שְׁתֵּי שִׁפְחֹתָיו וְאֶת-אַחַד עָשָׂר יְלָדָיו וַֽיַּעֲבֹר אֵת מַֽעֲבַר יַבֹּֽק׃

And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.

Genesis 33

וַיִּשָּׂא יַֽעֲקֹב עֵינָיו וַיַּרְא וְהִנֵּה עֵשָׂו בָּא וְעִמּוֹ אַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת אִישׁ וַיַּחַץ אֶת-הַיְלָדִים עַל-לֵאָה וְעַל-רָחֵל וְעַל שְׁתֵּי הַשְּׁפָחֽוֹת׃

And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.
וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת-הַשְּׁפָחוֹת וְאֶת-יַלְדֵיהֶן רִֽאשֹׁנָה וְאֶת-לֵאָה וִֽילָדֶיהָ אַֽחֲרֹנִים וְאֶת-רָחֵל וְאֶת-יוֹסֵף אַֽחֲרֹנִֽים׃

And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.
וַיִּשָּׂא אֶת-עֵינָיו וַיַּרְא אֶת-הַנָּשִׁים וְאֶת-הַיְלָדִים וַיֹּאמֶר מִי-אֵלֶּה לָּךְ וַיֹּאמַר הַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר-חָנַן אֱלֹהִים אֶת-עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.
וַתִּגַּשְׁןָ הַשְּׁפָחוֹת הֵנָּה וְיַלְדֵיהֶן וַתִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶֽיןָ׃

Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.
וַתִּגַּשׁ גַּם-לֵאָה וִֽילָדֶיהָ וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ וְאַחַר נִגַּשׁ יוֹסֵף וְרָחֵל וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֽוּ׃

And Leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אֲדֹנִי יֹדֵעַ כִּֽי-הַיְלָדִים רַכִּים וְהַצֹּאן וְהַבָּקָר עָלוֹת עָלָי וּדְפָקוּם יוֹם אֶחָד וָמֵתוּ כָּל-הַצֹּֽאן׃
13
And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.
יַֽעֲבָר-נָא אֲדֹנִי לִפְנֵי עַבְדּוֹ וַֽאֲנִי אֶֽתְנָהֲלָה לְאִטִּי לְרֶגֶל הַמְּלָאכָה אֲשֶׁר-לְפָנַי וּלְרֶגֶל הַיְלָדִים עַד אֲשֶׁר-אָבֹא אֶל-אֲדֹנִי שֵׂעִֽירָה׃

Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.

Genesis 37

וַיָּשָׁב אֶל-אֶחָיו וַיֹּאמַר הַיֶּלֶד אֵינֶנּוּ וַֽאֲנִי אָנָה אֲנִי-בָֽא׃

And he returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is not; and I, whither shall I go?

Genesis 42

וַיַּעַן רְאוּבֵן אֹתָם לֵאמֹר הֲלוֹא אָמַרְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶם׀ לֵאמֹר אַל-תֶּֽחֶטְאוּ בַיֶּלֶד וְלֹא שְׁמַעְתֶּם וְגַם-דָּמוֹ הִנֵּה נִדְרָֽשׁ׃

And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.

Genesis 44

וַנֹּאמֶר אֶל-אֲדֹנִי יֶשׁ-לָנוּ אָב זָקֵן וְיֶלֶד זְקֻנִים קָטָן וְאָחִיו מֵת וַיִּוָּתֵר הוּא לְבַדּוֹ לְאִמּוֹ וְאָבִיו אֲהֵבֽוֹ׃

And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.

Exodus 1

וַתִּירֶאןָ הַֽמְיַלְּדֹת אֶת-הָאֱלֹהִים וְלֹא עָשׂוּ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר אֲלֵיהֶן מֶלֶךְ מִצְרָיִם וַתְּחַיֶּיןָ אֶת-הַיְלָדִֽים׃

But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.
וַיִּקְרָא מֶֽלֶךְ-מִצְרַיִם לַֽמְיַלְּדֹת וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶן מַדּוּעַ עֲשִׂיתֶן הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וַתְּחַיֶּיןָ אֶת-הַיְלָדִֽים׃

And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?

Exodus 2

וְלֹֽא-יָכְלָה עוֹד הַצְּפִינוֹ וַתִּֽקַּֽח-לוֹ תֵּבַת גֹּמֶא וַתַּחְמְרָה בַֽחֵמָר וּבַזָּפֶת וַתָּשֶׂם בָּהּ אֶת-הַיֶּלֶד וַתָּשֶׂם בַּסּוּף עַל-שְׂפַת הַיְאֹֽר׃

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
וַתִּפְתַּח וַתִּרְאֵהוּ אֶת-הַיֶּלֶד וְהִנֵּה-נַעַר בֹּכֶה וַתַּחְמֹל עָלָיו וַתֹּאמֶר מִיַּלְדֵי הָֽעִבְרִים זֶֽה׃

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
וַתֹּאמֶר אֲחֹתוֹ אֶל-בַּת-פַּרְעֹה הַֽאֵלֵךְ וְקָרָאתִי לָךְ אִשָּׁה מֵינֶקֶת מִן הָֽעִבְרִיֹּת וְתֵינִק לָךְ אֶת-הַיָּֽלֶד׃

Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
וַתֹּֽאמֶר-לָהּ בַּת-פַּרְעֹה לֵכִי וַתֵּלֶךְ הָֽעַלְמָה וַתִּקְרָא אֶת-אֵם הַיָּֽלֶד׃

And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.
וַתֹּאמֶר לָהּ בַּת-פַּרְעֹה הֵילִיכִי אֶת-הַיֶּלֶד הַזֶּה וְהֵֽינִקִהוּ לִי וַֽאֲנִי אֶתֵּן אֶת-שְׂכָרֵךְ וַתִּקַּח הָֽאִשָּׁה הַיֶּלֶד וַתְּנִיקֵֽהוּ׃

And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.
וַיִּגְדַּל הַיֶּלֶד וַתְּבִאֵהוּ לְבַת-פַּרְעֹה וַֽיְהִי-לָהּ לְבֵן וַתִּקְרָא שְׁמוֹ מֹשֶׁה וַתֹּאמֶר כִּי מִן-הַמַּיִם מְשִׁיתִֽהוּ׃
10
And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Exodus 21

אִם-אֲדֹנָיו יִתֶּן-לוֹ אִשָּׁה וְיָֽלְדָה-לוֹ בָנִים אוֹ בָנוֹת הָֽאִשָּׁה וִֽילָדֶיהָ תִּֽהְיֶה לַֽאדֹנֶיהָ וְהוּא יֵצֵא בְגַפּֽוֹ׃
4
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
וְכִֽי-יִנָּצוּ אֲנָשִׁים וְנָגְפוּ אִשָּׁה הָרָה וְיָֽצְאוּ יְלָדֶיהָ וְלֹא יִֽהְיֶה אָסוֹן עָנוֹשׁ יֵֽעָנֵשׁ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר יָשִׁית עָלָיו בַּעַל הָֽאִשָּׁה וְנָתַן בִּפְלִלִֽים׃

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

Ruth 1

וַיָּמֻתוּ גַם-שְׁנֵיהֶם מַחְלוֹן וְכִלְיוֹן וַתִּשָּׁאֵר הָֽאִשָּׁה מִשְּׁנֵי יְלָדֶיהָ וּמֵֽאִישָֽׁהּ׃

And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

Ruth 4

וַתִּקַּח נָֽעֳמִי אֶת-הַיֶּלֶד וַתְּשִׁתֵהוּ בְחֵיקָהּ וַתְּהִי-לוֹ לְאֹמֶֽנֶת׃

And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.

1 Samuel 1

וְלוֹ שְׁתֵּי נָשִׁים שֵׁם אַחַת חַנָּה וְשֵׁם הַשֵּׁנִית פְּנִנָּה וַיְהִי לִפְנִנָּה יְלָדִים וּלְחַנָּה אֵין יְלָדִֽים׃

And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.

And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
וַיְהִי בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי וַיָּמָת הַיָּלֶד וַיִּֽרְאוּ עַבְדֵי דָוִד לְהַגִּיד לוֹ׀ כִּי-מֵת הַיֶּלֶד כִּי אָֽמְרוּ הִנֵּה בִֽהְיוֹת הַיֶּלֶד חַי דִּבַּרְנוּ אֵלָיו וְלֹֽא-שָׁמַע בְּקוֹלֵנוּ וְאֵיךְ נֹאמַר אֵלָיו מֵת הַיֶּלֶד וְעָשָׂה רָעָֽה׃

And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then himself, vex if we tell him that the child is dead?
וַיַּרְא דָּוִד כִּי עֲבָדָיו מִֽתְלַחֲשִׁים וַיָּבֶן דָּוִד כִּי מֵת הַיָּלֶד וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד אֶל-עֲבָדָיו הֲמֵת הַיֶּלֶד וַיֹּאמְרוּ מֵֽת׃

But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ עֲבָדָיו אֵלָיו מָֽה-הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתָה בַּֽעֲבוּר הַיֶּלֶד חַי צַמְתָּ וַתֵּבְךְּ וְכַֽאֲשֶׁר מֵת הַיֶּלֶד קַמְתָּ וַתֹּאכַל לָֽחֶם׃

Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.
וַיֹּאמֶר בְּעוֹד הַיֶּלֶד חַי צַמְתִּי וָֽאֶבְכֶּה כִּי אָמַרְתִּי מִי יוֹדֵעַ ‫(יחנני)‬ וְחַנַּנִי יְהוָה וְחַי הַיָּֽלֶד׃

And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

1 Kings 3

וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ גִּזְרוּ אֶת-הַיֶּלֶד הַחַי לִשְׁנָיִם וּתְנוּ אֶֽת-הַחֲצִי לְאַחַת וְאֶֽת-הַחֲצִי לְאֶחָֽת׃

And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.

1 Kings 12

וַֽיַּעֲזֹב אֶת-עֲצַת הַזְּקֵנִים אֲשֶׁר יְעָצֻהוּ וַיִּוָּעַץ אֶת-הַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר גָּֽדְלוּ אִתּוֹ אֲשֶׁר הָעֹֽמְדִים לְפָנָֽיו׃

But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:
וַיְדַבְּרוּ אֵלָיו הַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר גָּֽדְלוּ אִתּוֹ לֵאמֹר כֹּֽה-תֹאמַר לָעָם הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר דִּבְּרוּ אֵלֶיךָ לֵאמֹר אָבִיךָ הִכְבִּיד אֶת-עֻלֵּנוּ וְאַתָּה הָקֵל מֵֽעָלֵינוּ כֹּה תְּדַבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם קָֽטָנִּי עָבָה מִמָּתְנֵי אָבִֽי׃

And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.
וַיְדַבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם כַּֽעֲצַת הַיְלָדִים לֵאמֹר אָבִי הִכְבִּיד אֶֽת-עֻלְּכֶם וַֽאֲנִי אֹסִיף עַֽל-עֻלְּכֶם אָבִי יִסַּר אֶתְכֶם בַּשּׁוֹטִים וַֽאֲנִי אֲיַסֵּר אֶתְכֶם בָּֽעַקְרַבִּֽים׃

And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

1 Kings 14

וְאַתְּ קוּמִי לְכִי לְבֵיתֵךְ בְּבֹאָה רַגְלַיִךְ הָעִירָה וּמֵת הַיָּֽלֶד׃

Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.

1 Kings 17

וַיִּתְמֹדֵד עַל-הַיֶּלֶד שָׁלֹשׁ פְּעָמִים וַיִּקְרָא אֶל-יְהוָה וַיֹּאמַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהָי תָּשָׁב נָא נֶֽפֶשׁ-הַיֶּלֶד הַזֶּה עַל-קִרְבּֽוֹ׃

And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.
וַיִּשְׁמַע יְהוָה בְּקוֹל אֵֽלִיָּהוּ וַתָּשָׁב נֶֽפֶשׁ-הַיֶּלֶד עַל-קִרְבּוֹ וַיֶּֽחִי׃

And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
וַיִּקַּח אֵֽלִיָּהוּ אֶת-הַיֶּלֶד וַיֹּֽרִדֵהוּ מִן-הָֽעֲלִיָּה הַבַּיְתָה וַֽיִּתְּנֵהוּ לְאִמּוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלִיָּהוּ רְאִי חַי בְּנֵֽךְ׃

And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

2 Kings 2

וַיִּפֶן אַֽחֲרָיו וַיִּרְאֵם וַֽיְקַלְלֵם בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה וַתֵּצֶאנָה שְׁתַּיִם דֻּבִּים מִן-הַיַּעַר וַתְּבַקַּעְנָה מֵהֶם אַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁנֵי יְלָדִֽים׃

And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

2 Kings 4

וְאִשָּׁה אַחַת מִנְּשֵׁי בְנֵֽי-הַנְּבִיאִים צָֽעֲקָה אֶל-אֱלִישָׁע לֵאמֹר עַבְדְּךָ אִישִׁי מֵת וְאַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ כִּי עַבְדְּךָ הָיָה יָרֵא אֶת-יְהוָה וְהַנֹּשֶׁה בָּא לָקַחַת אֶת-שְׁנֵי יְלָדַי לוֹ לַֽעֲבָדִֽים׃

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
וַיִּגְדַּל הַיָּלֶד וַיְהִי הַיּוֹם וַיֵּצֵא אֶל-אָבִיו אֶל-הַקֹּֽצְרִֽים׃

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
עַתָּה רֽוּץ-נָא לִקְרָאתָהּ וֶֽאֱמָר-לָהּ הֲשָׁלוֹם לָךְ הֲשָׁלוֹם לְאִישֵׁךְ הֲשָׁלוֹם לַיָּלֶד וַתֹּאמֶר שָׁלֽוֹם׃

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.
וַיַּעַל וַיִּשְׁכַּב עַל-הַיֶּלֶד וַיָּשֶׂם פִּיו עַל-פִּיו וְעֵינָיו עַל-עֵינָיו וְכַפָּיו עַל-‫(כפו)‬ כַּפָּיו וַיִּגְהַר עָלָיו וַיָּחָם בְּשַׂר הַיָּֽלֶד׃

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

2 Chronicles 10

וַֽיַּעֲזֹב אֶת-עֲצַת הַזְּקֵנִים אֲשֶׁר יְעָצֻהוּ וַיִּוָּעַץ אֶת-הַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר גָּֽדְלוּ אִתּוֹ הָעֹֽמְדִים לְפָנָֽיו׃

But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.

And the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.
וַיְדַבֵּר אֲלֵהֶם כַּֽעֲצַת הַיְלָדִים לֵאמֹר אַכְבִּיד אֶֽת-עֻלְּכֶם וַֽאֲנִי אֹסִיף עָלָיו אָבִי יִסַּר אֶתְכֶם בַּשּׁוֹטִים וַֽאֲנִי בָּעַקְרַבִּֽים׃

And answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

Ezra 10

Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
וַיֹּאמֶר שַׂר הַסָּרִיסִים לְדָנִיֵּאל יָרֵא אֲנִי אֶת-אֲדֹנִי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר מִנָּה אֶת-מַאֲכַלְכֶם וְאֶת-מִשְׁתֵּיכֶם אֲשֶׁר לָמָּה יִרְאֶה אֶת-פְּנֵיכֶם זֹֽעֲפִים מִן-הַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר כְּגִֽילְכֶם וְחִיַּבְתֶּם אֶת-רֹאשִׁי לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.
וְיֵרָאוּ לְפָנֶיךָ מַרְאֵינוּ וּמַרְאֵה הַיְלָדִים הָאֹכְלִים אֵת פַּתְבַּג הַמֶּלֶךְ וְכַאֲשֶׁר תִּרְאֵה עֲשֵׂה עִם-עֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃

Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.
וּמִקְצָת יָמִים עֲשָׂרָה נִרְאָה מַרְאֵיהֶם טוֹב וּבְרִיאֵי בָּשָׂר מִן-כָּל-הַיְלָדִים הָאֹכְלִים אֵת פַּתְבַּג הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
15
And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.
וְהַיְלָדִים הָאֵלֶּה אַרְבַּעְתָּם נָתַן לָהֶם הָֽאֱלֹהִים מַדָּע וְהַשְׂכֵּל בְּכָל-סֵפֶר וְחָכְמָה וְדָנִיֵּאל הֵבִין בְּכָל-חָזוֹן וַחֲלֹמֽוֹת׃

As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Hosea 1

תְּחִלַּת דִּבֶּר-יְהוָה בְּהוֹשֵׁעַ וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-הוֹשֵׁעַ לֵךְ קַח-לְךָ אֵשֶׁת זְנוּנִים וְיַלְדֵי זְנוּנִים כִּֽי-זָנֹה תִזְנֶה הָאָרֶץ מֵֽאַחֲרֵי יְהוָֽה׃

The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

Joel 3

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

ἐὰν μὴ λάβῃ ἑκατονταπλασίονα νῦν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ τούτῳ οἰκίας καὶ ἀδελφοὺς καὶ ἀδελφὰς καὶ μητέρας καὶ τέκνα καὶ ἀγροὺς μετὰ διωγμῶν καὶ ἐν τῷ αἰῶνι τῷ ἐρχομένῳ ζωὴν αἰώνιον

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
